“You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your God,” says the Lord God.
~Ezekiel 34:31~
Today the Lord blessed me with the greatest gift of all, time alone with Him. How grateful I am to have sisters and brothers in Christ willing to step in and be Jesus without even realizing it. All too often we put aside our own needs for others, showing the love of God and then we turn around and condemn ourselves in the same moment. How tricky the devil is to have us believe in his lies that we are never enough. Today as I was driving, asking the Lord what He would like me to write about His words came through so beautifully for all of you, His Mighty children; "Tell them...You Are Enough!" We beat ourselves up thinking we need to do more when all we are doing in a day is plenty for the Lord to smile and say well done. "And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities."
(Luke 19:17)
Notice the wording here, "because you were faithful in a very little." We do not need to do extravagant things for the Lord to notice us or reward us. We do not need to wonder why our calling seems to be insignificant. We are more then enough my friends! Right from the mouth of Jesus Himself, He sees you and He notices every single thing you do. As long as we live and do for the glory of the Lord; we could be doing laundry, pumping gas or giving a simple hug to another that they really needed in that minute. We are still doing Kingdom work. No matter how small it may seem to our eyes, it is enough for God. If He created the earthworm and smiles at its function; what more does He do for us, who are made in His image, when we cook a meal for our fellow brethren "just because." Each deed is done in Christ when we act in love because He is love; "And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him."
(I John 4:16)
This verse is very straight forward today.
God says we are all His flock, the flock of His pasture. We are all His to be led how He needs us to be. The stress we feel about needing to do or be more then who we are is from the enemy himself. He loves to make us down ourselves, trust me I know from much experience.
"Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." (Luke 6:37)
I believe this verse goes for how we treat ourselves too. When we judge ourselves, are we not still judging? When we condemn ourselves, are we not still condemning? When we refuse to forgive ourselves, are we still not forgiving? I would love us all to meditate on these verses over our own lives. Ask ourselves if we are treating ourselves the way Jesus wants us to? We are His flock and we are all called to live and be who He wants us to be. We must give ourselves enough credit to where credit is due, and again I am also speaking to myself for I am merely a vessel and I believe this word is for me too. Guys, we are truely enough to Jesus Christ. If we weren't, would He have come to begin with? Let us not try to figure out things when it is God's job to take control. Let us not compare our worth to anyone else's when we all matter equally to Him. Let us not condemn ourselves when God is saying we are doing more then we even realize. A little goes a long way and He sees it all.
"Therefore hear me now, my children, And do not depart from the words of my mouth."
(Proverbs 5:7)
The Lord wants us all to see just how enough we are and what we accomplish is pleasing to Him. If we start to question our worth or role in His Kingdom, chances are we are listening to the one who is the father of lies. Jesus says you are surely enough!
Prayer:
Gracious Adonai, how I love Your creation and that is including myself. I know that when I condemn myself I am hurting You the most in it. Help me to remember that I am enough for who You called me to be. I do not wish to compare, judge or put down myself. I want to walk in whatever You have for me each day even if it is something simple in my eyes. I do all that i do for the glory of the Lord, even just by living. It is because of Your Blood I am saved and set free! Lead me to the Rock that is Higher then I. Show me who I am through Your very eyes. I give You praise, honor and glory for making me Your treasure and a part of Your Flock. In the Name of my Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Amen.
