and now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which you, O Lord , have given me.’ “Then you shall set it before the Lord your God, and worship before the Lord your God.
~Deuteronomy 26:10~
My family in Christ, oh how blessed are we to be surrounded by family to love, homes above our heads, food in our bellies and spiritual connection to God's throne. There was a time when God's people did not have most of these provisions before Christ had sacrificed Himself. In fact, there still are people in this world who do not have all of these provisions, yet still, they worship Elohim. Elohim, meaning God, is the One who deserves our worship all year round.
"There shall be no foreign god among you; Nor shall you worship any foreign god."
(Psalms 81:9)
Each day we wake up with a breath of fresh air in our lungs, we should worship Him who gave us this life to live. The act of worshipping a being is to bow our heads, get down on our knees or grasp our hands together in signal to prayer. It is the very act our body takes in reverence to the Lord.
"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker."
(Psalms 95:6)
Praising a being is to declare in song or speech with our mouth the very thing in which we worship; "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name." (Hebrews 13:15)
How great it is to be alive and full of the Holy Spirit! We have every reason to worship the One who supplies us with our needs.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
Each day that goes by that we feel as though we need to complain, let us look to Jesus who is our provider, our friend, our teacher and our commander. He is everything to and for us. There is more to be thankful for then we could even understand, let's start searching these things out and kicking out the devil's distractions of false emotion. God is always good. "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly." (Psalms 84:11)
There is nothing He is not willing to do for us as we walk uprightly, as we worship Him in spirit and in truth. Worshipping is to come with our hearts available to what so ever He needs of us to hear or see. Without Jesus' sacrifice on the cross we would have no ability to even know God as gentiles, we wouldn't have any ability to worship Him. Jesus gave us the gift that keeps on giving, why don't we give back to Him and show how much we need Him each day. Let us come down to our knees, clutch our hands together, raise our arms up to the heavens and worship Elohim, our amazing God; who gave all that was special to Him to receive us into His arms. The "firstfruits of the land" can be to us food on our table, love in our hearts, joy to our souls, music to our ears or unity in our church. Let us grasp ahold of these beautiful gifts from heaven and worship Him who gives so generously. We do not deserve them, we merely are loved and wanted by Him. This should be enough reason for us to drop to Jesus' feet, set aside our own selfishness and declare the works of the Lord. "All men shall fear, And shall declare the work of God; For they shall wisely consider His doing." (Psalms 64:9)
There may come a time where the enemy trips us up, causes us to focus on the trial ahead of us and makes us forget about all the goodness right in front of us. Satan's desire is to make God look like He just doesn't care or He forgot about us. But we all know who satan truely is; a liar. "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." (John 8:44)
When we believe in his lies, we tend to lack worship and praise. We get wrapped up in pity. We think that we have it as bad as it could possibly get. But the truth is Jesus hung on that cross, bled out, cried out, sophicated and died so that we could know Him. How then shall we ever think that He could forget about us or cause us any suffering Himself? Let us believe only in God. Worship only Him. He is waiting to delight in our praise and dance with us as we grow in love with Him beside us. There is no greater gift then to be able to do so.
Prayer:
Gracious Elohim, I stop and worship thee. Thank you for the ability to know You and show You the joy set before me that was given to me by You. I am forever grateful of the mercy and grace You have shown me. I am claiming to be Your servant, Your child, Your friend and I long to behold the beauty of the Lord and speak of Your glorious works! My God, King Jesus and Holy Spirit I am honored to be apart of Your Kingdom and partake in Your power and authority that was given to me to be used for Your glory. Use me today Father anyway You desire for I worship and praise Your glorious Name; that one day every knee will bow and every tounge will confess that You are Lord. I receive all blessings and I declare today is a good day because You are good! It is in Your Sovereign Name I pray, Jesus Christ. Amen.
