With True Love, Follows Repentance

January 12, 2021

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

~Galatians 6:9~

When we start to look for answers in people we create a sense of confusion in our hearts that can make us feel overwhelmed and lost. Most times the answers of the world end up being wrong and it throws us off emotionally and physically. When we stop relying on Jesus and turn more to the news, videos and magazines over the word of God we lose our first love. Jesus is always right and will never throw us off. Jesus warned His church of what happens to those who lose their first love; "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent." (Revelation 2:5)

Repent, Jesus says. We must repent first.

"From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17)

Everyone seems to be so scatter brained trying to figure out the next thing that will occur, the right thing to do or how they should respond. I tell you my friends, repentance. Without it, we could very well be living a life we had no idea we were even living, then when judgement day comes we will be caught off guard. Let us come to God on our knees and truely repent, not just for ourselves but for our entire nation. For the abominations that have occured time and time again, year after year. Too long we looked the other way. Too many times we were afraid of offending people. God sits on His throne and sees us ignore the true issue. Jesus says if we do not abide in Him we will be thrown into the fire; "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned."

(John 15:6)

I do not wish to scare you away from Jesus. I wish to show you the truth. The way to mercy is repentance, thats where it starts; "He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13)

If we continue to cover up for others when we know deep down it is an abomination, if we surround ourselves with sin all while preaching "God will still love us" or if we preach a false peace to come because "God is merciful"; we leave out the rest of what God represents. He is loving, gentle and merciful. Yet where is the rest of the truth? He is just, jealous and Holy. He cannot accept sin at all or ignore it. It must be dealt with. He sent His Son as an atonement and without true repentance from ourselves and turning to live for Christ we are on our way to the pit. We can focus on God's goodness while still fearing Him with reverence. We are called to do good; abiding in Christ to become more like Him and less like ourselves so that we can produce the fruit of the Spirit; "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness." (Galatians 5:22)

When we are not walking in the light we are walking in darkness, there is no in between.

The problem with walking in the dark is you will trip and stumble and look for a way around; "But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.” (John 11:10)

As many people reach out for answers or a way around, the real thing we need to reach for more of is Jesus. He is the One to get us through anything without tripping over ourselves or others; " But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

(I John 1:7)

When we focus on true repentance, coming to the Lord with our whole heart and being a blessing to others we will reap in the end what we sow for the Lord. Paul tells us we should never grow weary while doing what is good. Typically if you're doing good for the Lord you will suffer in the world. For Jesus said; "If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." (John 15:19) When we pretend we are doing good when really we are living a life that is displeasing to God we will eventually grow weary in the end. We may feel good about others accepting us for the time being but when they fall, we will fall with them. However, if we are focusing on our first love, Jesus Christ, we will rise just as He has risen. "Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him."

(Romans 6:8)

My friends, everytime you think of turning on the news, go and pray to God for understanding. Whenever you feel like you need to check your social media page, open the bible and go to something you know is truth. No natter what, keep asking the Lord what it is He needs of you in this time we are living in. We cannot continue to only focus on what Jesus is going to do for us as we feel concerned, we must push past our own needs and ask God what we can do for Him.

Let us use this time to be a blessing to others, to pray for people and to unite in the right fellowship. For in due season, we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Seasons come and seasons go and some may last longer then expected. Do not lose your first love while you wait. Live for Him as He lives for us.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for not losing heart for me. I declare I shall not lose heart for You. When I was lost You found me, when I was shaken You calmed me and when I was afraid You held me in the palm of Your hand. I vow to do whatever You need of me today. I take each day one day at a time knowing You are in control of whatever is to come. I do not wish to worry or question Your abilities. I know Your timing is perfect. Lord, thank you for trusting in me to be living in a time such as this. I pray for clarity on what I am to do for Your will, understanding on the ways You work in my life and my love for You to never wane. I want to focus more on You and less on the world around me. I pray for the comfort and peace of Christ to fill my heart so that out of it I can produce good fruit. Lord I praise You for all the many chances You have given this world, for being so patient and caring but for also being just and Holy. I understand whatever You need to do in this world and I repent of any known or unknown sin in my life and I repent for this nation for all the abominations that have taken place. Forgive us Lord and show me how to do more good as I walk in Your light. I pray this in Your powerful Name, Jesus Christ. Amen.
