Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
~Hebrews 10:23~
Life throws us many different curve balls, doesn't it? Sometimes we end up in situations we would of never dreamed of and sometimes we put ourselves there. What so ever the case may be, when we have Jesus beside us we know He is faithful to help us through. He is faithful to give us strength when we need it; "And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
(II Corinthians 12:9)
He is faithful to wipe our tears when we have cried for days on end; "For You have delivered my soul from death, My eyes from tears, And my feet from falling."
(Psalms 116:8)
He is faithful to hold our hand through the worst of times; "Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand." (Psalms 73:23)
He is faithful to interceed for us; "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus." (I Timothy 2:5)
He is faithful to remain faithful; "If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself." (II Timothy 2:13)
When we truely grasp the person Jesus Christ is and we get to know Him intimately; we begin to understand just how much He wants to do for us each day. There is nothing He wouldnt do for His children. He loves us more then we could ever understand. The parts that we do understand are big enough to know. The gift of salvation is sufficient enough, however, God gives us even more then that through Jesus Christ! We do not simply have a way into heaven, rather a beautiful life serving Christ until we get to heaven. We each carry a beautiful purpose for Jesus and He wants to use those purposes as blessings to others. "not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord."
(Romans 12:11)
Its a beautiful domino effect of faithfulness.
We are called to remain hopeful of everything we are led to do, to walk in faith and to never give up. This verse today tells us to hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering. Let us be bold as lions; standing tall and confident of who God is and what He has already done and will continue to do. Lions do not run away, rather they run towards what they are wanting to defeat. "The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion."
(Proverbs 28:1)
Let us run closer to Jesus and not further away from Him. The world is full of empty promises. Jesus never wavers in His faithfulness to us. What so ever He says, that shall He do. It may not be right away or in "our time," but it is perfect time and it is always fulfilled. It took hundreds of years for Jesus to come and fulfill the Messianic prophecies; but He came didn't He? All promises of God are yes. Just as one example of many prophecies fulfilled, Isaiah mentions Jesus as a faithful servant willing to come and help His people in many different ways; "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound." (Isaiah 61:1)
In many ways we are to mirror this image of Christ today. We have the Spirit of the Lord God upon us now and He instructs us to go out and make disciples, heal the broken hearted, set the captives free and preach the word of liberty to those who do not know Him. We are to hold fast the confession of our hope that He put into us, just as the israelites did who waited and trusted in the coming of the Messiah. God never wavers in His faith, or anything for that matter. Why shall we? Let us imitate our most humble God and be humble for Him. "My soul shall make its boast in the Lord ; The humble shall hear of it and be glad." (Psalms 34:2)
We have an amazing King we serve, we should want nothing more then to boast of His good deeds and His faithfulness in our lives. No matter how things may look to our eyes, there are many things unseen in the spiritual realm that have already taken place. We just have yet to see them manifest, just as Jesus Himself did. It is all on God's perfect timeline. We can walk in this world without worrying about what may happen as we remind ourselves of Emmanuel, God with us. We can be fearless as we hold fast our confession of hope and understand He is in control and nothing can harm us. We can be strong in His might as we battle in spiritual war against the enemy declaring the victory that has already been done and receiving it with faith in the cross. We can grow into strong men and women of God as we trust in the Lord and lean on Him obediently; knowing that blessings come to those who wait, watch and respond in love. Let us not waver my friends in our faith in Jesus Christ, for He loves us dearly and is bigger then anything we may be up against in this very moment. I promise you will see His glory unfold and you will strike down the enemy everyday as you confess your hope and declare victory over each circumstance!
Prayer:
Gracious God, thank you for the victory of the cross! Thank you for being so faithful to Your word and never wavering. I declare to not waver in You. I pray my faith to grow each day so that nothing will be impossible to overcome as I hold Your hand. I know this world will try to pull me down but I choose to follow You and rise up above any situation. I want to focus on the unseen and increase the Lord within me, decreasing myself. Show me how I can be of service to You today Lord. Guide me as a blessing to Your children and allow me to be encouragement to the weary soul. My hope is in You and I choose to hold fast. I praise my King for His great faithfulness and all of the blessings I have received already. I know more is yet to come. May Your Name be glorified today. I am so grateful to be alive and full of Your Holy Spirit today declaring the works of the Lord God Almighty! I decree today will be blessed in the faithful Name of my Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
