Walking In Truth

April 17, 2021

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

~III John 1:4~

There are so many things in the world stirring up and taking peoples focus off their faith. Fear has taken grip of several lives and torment has made its home yet again in many souls. People are turning their backs on the Church and attempting to rely on their own solutions. Life is certainly a cesspool of confusion in the minds of those relying on others instead of God. We need to revert back to the truth. Jesus says He is the truth;

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)

We need to simply walk in Christ, what His word says that we should believe. We need to be reading it every single day and meditating on it.

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." (Joshua 1:8)

Simply straight forward, God tells Joshua exactly what He is telling us still; when we choose to meditate on this Book daily and live according to all that is written in it, we will be walking in truth. We will have good success no matter how chaotic it may seem around us, God is faithful to follow through as we follow through with Him. Many a times a person will not wish to sacrifice their time to read, pray or just sit and embrace the Lord's presence; yet they expect Him to do it all for them regardless. Not to say He wouldnt do that, because frankly He is so loving He would. "Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily." (Colossians 1:28‭-‬29)

God yearns for us to walk purely in truth and yearn for His company so that we may become prosperous in all things, doing His work in us mightily. The closer we walk in truth, the more we get to know the truth personally. "Teach me Your way, O Lord ; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name." (Psalms 86:11)

Preaching truth without living according to it is rather hypocritical, dont you think? I believe it is better to be silent if we are not living it. God is calling us to be of faith. To believe in His word and to live according to it as we represent Him. For most of society we like to fabricate our own "truth," making up excuses for the life we choose to live without Jesus. The Lord says there is no greater joy for Him then for us to walk in Him. Can you imagine, being the source of the Lord's joy even for a moment? We absolutely can! As we obey, listen, trust and follow Him we will make Him joyful and our souls will feel the effect. I agree the very sight of us brings the Lord joy as He made us and loves us but the kind of joy that says, "I am thankful that You are walking beside Me, My child," This is what we should be striving for everyday! "For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart." (Ecclesiastes 5:20)

I understand there are a lot of changes happening in the world today, our society and our families; if we choose to follow the truth in the midst of all of the lies being tossed around, we will hold our peace. We will begin to see ourselves as if we are floating around waiting for the next step to take for Christ without any concerns of worldly things for we will know who God is. The closer we get to the spiritual world, the closer we get to truth; things that are unchanging. Things in this world will seize to make us afraid or worried for the truth will be settled within us deeply as we excersize it. Just like with any type of muscle memory, we can gain that spiritual memory and walk in the light of Truth. "While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them." (John 12:36)

Let us follow Christ, the Truth, each and every moment of the day. For we should long to please Him and to live in peace, especially in a time such as now. Nothing with God will be impossible. We must walk in Truth and shun lies, calling good, good and calling evil, evil.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for the Truth that is never failing. Thank you for teaching me through Your word that I may live in peace and harmony beside Your Son. I am more then a conqueror and I shall not be shaken by the things that occur around me. With Your guidance, I know I will get by each day filled with divine strength that can only come from You. Help me to do as Your will insists I do today, use me as a shining lighthouse into a dark, misty and confusing world. May all be for the glory of God. Im honored to be Yours and I give praises to my great King who is so gentle, kind and who can never lie. I choose to walk in truth as I long to bring You great joy in return. Fill me with Your presence and bless Your children in this day. I believe You will because You are Faithful and True. It is in Your Name I rejoice and receive all the promises of God, Jesus Christ my Great Redeemer. Amen.
