Unperishable Spirit

March 16, 2021

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

~II Corinthians 4:16~

There are a vast amount of folks relying on the world for change, comfort, effectiveness or resolution. There are quite a bit of those people who are christians as well. When we find ourselves getting wrapped up in carnal things rather then God we begin to slip away from our faith in general. As previously written, our faith is important as we live for the gospel. If we are living for the world, for things we see, we are not living by faith. Things of this world are temporary, they will eventually fade away. Just as our bodies grow old and eventually fade away our spirit lives on. "What man can live and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of the grave?" (Psalms 89:48)

So many are afraid of dying, yet they claim to believe in eternity with Jesus. I understand that we dont wish death upon ourselves, that we wish to live as long as we can and be with our families and friends. Yet, Jesus decides our fate, not us and He should be first in our hearts for who we wish to "be with." There is no fear in this kind of hope. Our main concern is not to be doing all that we can to attempt immortality, which is impossible for us anyway; it should be focused on renewing our spirit man in Christ each day so that when the time comes our soul lives on in peace. "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10:28)

We must fear the Lord above all, no matter what it may look like to us physically. God has the first and last word. "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” (Revelation 22:13)

The problem in the body of Christ is that the world is continuously deceiving and driving more to fall into confusion, fear, doubt and worry; all of these things which the Lord told us to stay away from. The more we rely on things of this world, the further we will be driving away from the Lord. Life is not comfortable. God felt the effects of this Himself. He spent years of His life on earth being mocked, hated, condemned and judged when He in fact was the Judge of all. It amazes me what He puts up with each day us as we continue to question His word without even realizing we are. "Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus." (Romans 15:5)

We are no better then the wandering israelites or the idolators of Baal. Our idols take forms of other things but an idol is an idol. God sees no difference. The moment we focus on something above God and rely on it above Him; it is an idol in our lives. "They served their idols, Which became a snare to them." (Psalms 106:36)

The devil loves it when we fall into a snare set by him and his demons; he only wishes to take your focus off God and put it on something worldly and temporary. When we are transforming our minds in Jesus Christ we are in complete disagreement with satan and we begin to discern more through the Holy Spirit that which is acceptable and pure over that which is false and deceiving. There are things being pushed to deter us from the Lord Jesus and the work He did at Calvary, however, we as Christ's Body need to stay awake, alert and effective to speak and live the gospel. There are many out in the world that never knew Him, they need our influence. How can we be that influence of hope if we are not renewing our spirit man each day in the Lord's Spirit. We are living in times where becoming so detached is detrimental, not only to ourselves but to others who need to understand the true option to eternal life and divine joy. The devil is putting on blinders, it is our job to take them off! We cannot compromise for anything. We must stand for Christ and with Christ; "nor give place to the devil." (Ephesians 4:27)

This is why Paul tells us in this verse of today not to lose heart. The Lord wants us to give our whole heart to Him; however, so does the devil. We can either harden it for the devil or soften it for God. We can choose who we rely on. Let us pray against spirit of deception each day my beloved friends, for we have an enemy after our faith. Let us put on the mind of Jesus. Think as He would think and respond how He would respond. "But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection." (Colossians 3:14)

For if we respond or live without love, it is useless for the kingdom. God is not mocked. We must judge ourselves and nobody else. It is not our job to do so. I for one learned this myself and had much repentance to do after the Lord saved me. I learned the truth and it truely set me free once conviction hit me. Let us focus on Christ, let us bring His truth back into churches that may fall short, let us live and represent Jesus just as He told us to do and let us see those miracles pour over those around us. May all Glory be to God the Father, not the world or things of the world, rather the One who makes all of this possible! It is because of Him our spirit man is capable of living on forever with Him!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for Your precious gift of life eternal in which gives me a hope in my spirit man. I do not fear the things of this fallen world as I know in time You will change it according to Your plans already spoken. Your timing is perfect and fulfilling. Lord keep my eyes directed towards You, do not let me slip away from the hope that is rooted in You. Without Your word directing me and Your Holy Spirit dwelling in me, I would be weakened. I bind all spirits of deception, fear, doubt, worry, and control out of my life and I forbid them from coming near to me by the power and authority of Jesus Christ and the Blood that washes me clean. I praise You and honor You in all that I am led to do. Use me today for Your glory alone. Give me comfort and protection as I do Your will. In the Name of my sweet King Yeshua, whom I renew my spirit in each day. Amen.
