The Wondrous Works Of God's Word

February 8, 2021

Deal bountifully with Your servant, That I may live and keep Your word. Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law.

~Psalms 119:17‭-‬18~

The word of God. This beautiful book in front of me, as I look down at it I recall a day as a young teen glancing at a bible and thinking "this is strange." I couldn't quite understand any of what was written in it. It was almost as though the words themselves were blurred or jumbled in a way that was unreadable. I put it back after minutes of browsing and gave up entirely after that until the moment I came to Christ a couple weeks after my 29th birthday. The Holy Spirit filled me and opened my eyes to what the words were saying. It finally "made sense," it felt like God Himself was talking directly to me as I read it. Why is that? Well, because He is! God's word is just that, His spoken word breathed into His people as they were being instructed to write down for all of us now to see and hear.

"Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear." (Acts 2:33)

When we come to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal savior and redeemer, He gives us His Holy Spirit. With the beloved Holy Spirit our eyes will be opened and our ears will be unstopped. The word of God will expand in our hearts and the stories of His people within them will feel as though it is about us at times. It is a beautiful gift from God to be able to open our bibles and immediately hear from the Almighty El Shaddai. His living word, which is sufficient enough. "Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord , “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" (Jeremiah 23:29)

The word of God which is able to do all things and speak against all things. We are told to abide in the Lord each day to grow in unison with Him. The more we study His living word, the more our faith increases and the less we see ourselves. We will begin to see and hear just as He does, we begin to see and hear how the Spirit of God move us to. "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me." (John 14:24)

This word shall cause us to hunger more as we truely open ourselves up to the Holy Spirit to receive more. There is so many mysteries to God that He wants us to understand more of. He longs to give us knowledge and wisdom from heaven, our hearts have to strive to dive into His word each day as we ask the Holy Spirit to open our eyes. "how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery, as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ."

(Ephesians 3:3-4)

Paul craved for others to see what he saw in Christ and know what he knows. I understand completely how Paul felt and I pray each day the Lord to open the eyes of the blind and ears of the deaf. This word is beneficial for all, we must willingly meditate on it and invite His Spirit to be with us, without ceasing. " Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all."

(I Timothy 4:15)

That moment we take a break from it or even just a day off of reading or praying is exactly the moment the devil is searching for. It must be a daily task we strive for! Keep in mind, the devil knows scripture very well and will use it to twist your thought process, the way you perceive it and the way you teach it. We must make sure Jesus is confirming how we feel, think and respond. The devil wants us to figure things out on our own. Jesus wants us to have constant help from His Guide, for we can do nothing without Him. What a gift to have Him helping all of us each and everyday without question! We know just how powerful God's spoken word is as we read about Jesus' temptation in the desert, He responded to every tactic with quoting scripture in faith, the written word that is truth. The devil could not stand against it. He flees when we act in faith on the word. That is the key, "in faith". We can speak a word all day and it will be just that, a word. When we believe deeply in our heart what we are saying and we activate the authority and power of God's word over our life, we come into agreement with Jesus completely and things change. Mountains move. Demons tremble. Situations shift.

David knew in His heart that his eyes needed to be opened continuously so that he may see the Wondrous things of God. When our minds are clear from distraction, our spirits can align more to Christ. "And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve the Lord without distraction."

(I Corinthians 7:35)

When our prayer life is increasingly steady and our time in the word itself grows each day, we will see God's glory fall! "You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory."

(Psalms 73:24)

I have witnessed many things fall in glory and this is because the amount of time set aside each day only for Him. When we are not in the word and doing things in our lives we should be meditating on it in the back of our minds, speaking to Jesus under our breath when around others, inviting Him into our daily tasks as we continually praise Him for each step. All of this we can do as we wait for the next time to get away in private with Him. There is always time to make for Him to be in us, for He never leaves our side; we just need to aknowledge Him as always being right there. It will change the way we live and keep His word close. Some may waver in fear of being judged by what others think about them talking to a being they cannot physically see as they cook a dinner for their family. Some may feel embarrasment as they dance in the middle of the kitchen with their arms stretched out wide praising God in the heavens as there may be a possibility the neighbors may just see them, or someone may walk in. Some may wonder if God even wants to help them find their car keys that are lost somewhere in the house, because it is known that "Gods eyes sees all things." Those feelings you feel of fear, embarassment, wonder and questioning yourself in these moments come straight from the father of lies. Satan loves to whisper to you so you do not make Jesus the center of every single thing in your day. He loves to see you doubt in your own faith. He loves to watch you stop dancing because someone just walked in the room. He loves to make you search in frustration for lost keys as you allow anger to set in when still not finding them. He loves to watch you "take a break" from reading your bible and connecting with the Holy Spirit just so you can watch tv instead. God's word is beneficial for your faith to grow so that all of these things I have listed shall become natural and joyful to you. No longer will you care about what others think, you will understand we are not put here to please others but merely to please God. No longer will you try to control everything yourself as you put your trust in God's help in every simple and drastic step. You can begin to see His Wondrous works of His word come to life as you exersize your mind to understanding and learning each day. "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

(Hebrews 4:12)

Search the heart of God by diving deep into scripture my friends. Ask the Holy Spirit for understanding on the things you are reading. Pray that your faith increases in that moment you read those words. Put those words to action once that faith has set in your heart. I assure you, magnificient changes will present themselves my brothers and sisters!

Prayer:

El Shaddai, my all sufficient God, thank you for Your precious and powerful word that is here for me to know You and understand the instructions of life itself. I am so grateful to be able to run to You for all things and know that You are there waiting to help me through every circumstance. I invision Your arms stretched wide and ready as You wait to catch me Jesus, hold me tight and lead me into the next step. Remind me to use the word as my sword against the enemies attempts to drag me away. Help me to memorize the verses that will move mountains for this day. Holy Spirit, please open my ears and eyes to what is being said to me today and what I can do to glorify God in blessings to others. Praise be to Jesus the Messiah, who came to fulfill this word once and for all. For teaching me His ways. For gathering His children to help eachother. May Your Blood cover all my family today as they live out the word of God. May we keep your word dear to our hearts and do all as it says. In Your Name of Power, I pray. Jesus Christ. Amen.
