The Lord's Territory

September 8, 2021

“Now if the Lord your God enlarges your territory, as He swore to your fathers, and gives you the land which He promised to give to your fathers, and if you keep all these commandments and do them, which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and to walk always in His ways, then you shall add three more cities for yourself besides these three.

~Deuteronomy 19:8‭-‬9~

Wherever we place our feet we know we are walking on God's land. Every piece of scenery we take in and all narrow roads we drive through are His. From as high up as the highest mountain to as low as the lowest valley. The Lord has blessed us abundantly. He has created us and allowed us to roam about His territory freely. Even though all of Creation is indeed His, there of course are plots of land that are owned, given into the hands of individuals and considered private property. In times past and even now God had blessed those of His children with their own territory to claim. He has caused enemies of His faithful to flee and give up the land which they occupied; "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God." (Leviticus 25:38)

We have clear instruction to love the Lord and walk in His ways, not our own. When we obey His will, blessings come into our lives, one being certain territory. Is there a place in your heart you are praying for that you never would think could be yours? God can surely give it into your hands if He so chooses. We should never give up on hope, we cannot allow fear to creep in and take what God wants to give us. We know what happens when we do, the enemy tends to take over.

"There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.” (Numbers 13:33)

Sometimes what is given to us is by taking it with God. The beauty is we are never fighting alone. The battle is truely His. Even when we see wicked things happening in the Lord's territory, we know when we partner with Jesus in prayer and faithfulness He is desiring that we should turn it to holiness with Him. If, however, we are not being faithful in praying for certain territory we are concerned about, how then will the Lord honor what we haven't set our heart on? We must walk in His ways. When we do we begin to become more convicted about what is going on around us in places that were created by our Lord. We will want to turn evil into good as we partner with Jesus.

"Whoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, He himself will fall into his own pit; But the blameless will inherit good."

(Proverbs 28:10)

We can start off little and continue to increase with God on our side! He will allow us to inherit good. The Lord will grant His faithful with a plot of land and in our faithfulness to Him, He is able to grant us towns, cities and nations. There is always room for increase with Jesus. This is the God whom we serve! We can change little by little the things which were meant for evil for His glory. Let us respect where we set our feet as His, not just when we step into a church building. We must remember wherever we are, we are in His territory and it is in His hands to appoint it to His people. Let us gather together in prayer for the land which we are concerned for and believe for God to grant it to us!

Prayer:

Father God, I thank you for the authority and power You have granted to me so that I may pray and change atmosphere with You. Lord, place upon my heart the places, towns, cities and nations I am to pray over without ceasing. I strive to defeat evil in all areas of Your world as I whole heartedly serve You. I believe that You are the same God who gave territory into the hands of the Israelites and You will do that for us. Soften the hearts of the blind Lord. Gather up the remnant and let us rise and declare for what is Yours. I bless all that You are having us cross over into and I praise You for Your great power and faithfulness to provide. Hear our prayers for this town, this city and this nation. Guide us where our feet are meant to go and let every breath that is in me give thanks to the land in which I am on, for it is always Yours. In the Name of my King Jesus Christ, I declare and rejoice. Amen.
