Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
~Isaiah 41:10~
I love the first words in this verse; "Fear not, for I am with you." God has consistently comforted His people by assuring them He is right there with them. The concept of "fear" does not apply in God's kingdom and He is always reminding us never to allow it in our lives as the kingdom is within us. He tells us why we need of no fear; He is with us.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."(II Timothy 1:7)
Anytime a war broke out, God was their deliverer. Anytime a person was being persued by enemies, God
was their shelter from harm. Anytime confusion set in and questions outweighed their ability to make a decision, God gave them their answers and decided for them. Anytime the bodies of some grew weak and unable to push forward, God provided strength to their flesh. There is nothing that He will not help us with as long as we are reaching for His help; "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble."
(Psalms 46:1)
In these times when we feel so lost, broken, confused or scared; when we think to ourselves that there is nobody to truely help us or care. Think again! If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, go to Him and ask Him in the truth of His word for that help. He promises not only to strengthen us and help us but He will uphold us, He says, with His righteous right hand. He holds us tightly and goes through tribulation with us. He weeps when we weep. He laughs when we laugh. He fights when we fight. He upholds us completely as we trust in Him. That is our part in this walk, our trust in Him. Those whom we love deeply, we trust deeply. "Therefore take careful heed to yourselves, that you love the Lord your God."
(Joshua 23:11)
When Joshua addressed his people with these words, he was reminding them of what the Lord brought them out of. He warned them not to turn back to people but remain with their eyes on God. " know for certain that the Lord your God will no longer drive out these nations from before you. But they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land which the Lord your God has given you."
(Joshua 23:13)
When we decide to turn back to what we were delivered from, we will fall into these traps and snares. Even now in the year 2021, we should take the advice of Joshua, love God and turn to Him. He is with us and wants to be our complete guide. Jesus sent His Holy Spirit to fill us and be our complete guide. With the Spirit we can understand and be convicted of what to do and what not to do. This allows God to truely be with us at all times no matter where we are. Jesus is alive and seated at the right hand of the Father and we are there with Him as He holds us with His right hand. "Your right hand, O Lord , has become glorious in power; Your right hand, O Lord , has dashed the enemy in pieces." (Exodus 15:6)
There is glory being beside the Lord. His right hand holds it all, including us. Why should we have any concern in our hearts with a promise like this? We tend to see things with our eyes and when we can't we become overwhelmed and in need for an answer as to why or how. This is using our flesh not our faith. It is important to understand this verse today using faith. God describes Himself as being "I AM." In this we have understanding that whoever He says He is in the word is who He is. He is called Redeemer, Savior, Friend, Father, Holy, Sovereign, Pure, Truth, Merciful, Just and many more. God is who He says He is, which is all of these things and more! This is far more then anyone else could measure up to. When the Great I AM promises to be with us through all of our good times and bad times, we should have no reason to believe otherwise. "Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23)
I have said it many times before, Jesus wants an intimate relationship with us all. He is reaching out constantly to us asking for us to reach back. If one was to fall through ice, breaking through and going under the water beneath; when one came to rescue that person they would reach out for them to take their hand. If the person in trouble refused to reach and grab ahold of their hand, they would end up losing their life. The same goes for Jesus and His righteous right hand, my friends. He is constantly reaching out to all of us, begging us to reach back so He can save us, help us, and nurse us back to life again. We should not be stubborn in trying to figure out our own way. We should always reach for Jesus in any circumstance.
"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me." (Psalms 138:7)
Jesus will always save us with His most righteous right hand! If you are struggling right now with illness, hardship, confusion, pain, or just a fear of what is to come in this world; reach out for Jesus' hand, I know for a fact He is there waiting for you to do so. There is nothing too complicated, too confusing or too demanding of Him to handle. He can do all things for He is sovereign and we are not. We need Him. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
(Psalms 23:1)
Without our Shepherd's constance guidance we could end up in a place completely lost and trying to figure out a way out ourselves. Our Good Shepherd wants to make sure His entire flock is kept well and remains strong. Let us trust in I AM, knowing He is who He says He is and He does what He says He will do. Truth is truth, it cannot be changed. When we start to feel a way we know is not aligned with His word, we should be very quick to run to Him and grab ahold of that righteous right hand and know He will walk us through it step by step.
