Strength As We Wait

February 12, 2021

But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

~Isaiah 40:31~

There has been many times where the devil has tried his tricky schemes to make me feel discouraged and try to make me just "give up." In my past without knowing Jesus, I naturally would do just that, give up. However, things are a lot different now. My eyes are wide open to the unseen. My calling is very prevalant. My faith in the Lord cannot be taken from me in what I daily witness in Spirit as I listen to Him and only Him. Things are so vast, far beyond what we could ever imagine. Jesus knows this, of course as our Creator, this is why He knew we could not do things on our own. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)

We tend to, as humans, think that we can still control some aspect of our life. Honestly, we cannot. Submission is so important. "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)

Isaiah speaks a profound word through the moving of God's Spirit. As we wait on the Lord, rather then rush into our own decisions, we shall renew our strength. Patience is very important, a huge prayer of mine I make sure to pray each day. When it comes to our children, our husbands or wives, people we know or do not know, a job we may want, or even an event that may be impending; we must wait on the Lord. His timing is perfect, ours is not. Once we can fully submit ourselves to God, obedience comes into play. Obedience to Jesus and waiting on His time shows that we have the fear of the Lord. "Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure." (Isaiah 33:6)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.

Each time we may think we are to make a decision and are not confirming with the Lord first if this is the right thing to do or say, we are not obedient and we may end up becoming weary. The Lord is our only strength, we cannot be strong without Him.

"I will love You, O Lord , my strength."

(Psalms 18:1)

David submitted to God, David feared the Lord. David learned how to receive his strength as he began to wait on Him to move. Eventually when God does move in His timing, we will see such glory that we will feel as though we are as strong and free as an eagle soaring through the air. Symbolism of course, yet the feeling is a promise.

God wants us to be at peace, have divine strength and prosper beside Him. The way to do so is to pray every moment of everyday and know that even though something small may be happening, God wants you to give it to Him and not try to control it yourself. Wait on the Lord and be patient my friends. Ask Jesus for discernment between good and evil so as not to be deceived into taking control in the flesh. "Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord , And find the knowledge of God."

(Proverbs 2:3‭-‬5)

The Father is faithful to His children who reach out. Not a moment goes by I do not speak to the Lord and wait for His leading; whether it be under my breath while out and about, in my closet in deep prayer or with others in unison. Confiding in Jesus for literally everything is why I am able to remain strong and peaceful. There truely is no other way.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord , thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."

(Jeremiah 29:11)

We cannot try to make our own destiny or our own future. He has planned a destiny for us from the beginning of time. He knows the desires of our hearts even before we pray through them. Submission to His will for our life is the key. We must search ourselves each day and ask for any wicked way to be revealed so we can repent, let go and walk in His will. "Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has." (Luke 12:43‭-‬44)

The promises of God always come as we trust and wait on Him. We shall walk right beside Him and not faint. He will bless us beyond imagine in doing so.

The devil will try to fill you with busyness, to rush you into just doing something you believe is right. He likes to make you focus on yourself and your problems and how you can fix them. God wants you to focus on Him, and His sacrifice for you so that selfishness will be a distant thought and you find yourself relying on only Jesus to fix all of your current circumstances. "Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand." (Psalms 73:23)

Wait on the Lord and rest in His strength. It is always glorious as we do.

Prayer:

Gracious God, thank you for your divine strength that You are amazingly merciful to provide to me. I do not deserve it yet because of Your Son I have the ability to ask and receive Your blessings. I am so grateful for the promises You have spoken through Your word and I declare to wait on You Lord until You decide it is time to move or have me move. Show me how to remain patient and trusting towards You. I know You have a destiny and specific calling on my life and I want nothing more then to be obedient to just that. Praises be to You for the joy You fill me with as I rely on You and not my own self. You are worthy of all glory and honor and I pray to move in Your Spirit today and do what You need me to do according to Your will, not my own. In the Name of Your precious Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
