Sow The Right Seed In The Right Time

January 24, 2021

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

~Galatians 6:7~

When gardening a type of specific product we want it to turn out beneficial in the end. The process to getting the right growth in planting begins with the right seed, the right depth, the right scattering method and the right nutrients. Planting takes a great deal of work, yet also a lot of patience. We can't throw seed just anywhere and expect it to harvest perfectly each time without applying the right methods, trust me I have tried that, the plants died or the seed got eaten by an animal, just as Jesus warned us about; And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them."

(Matthew 13:4)

With the right care to anything we can happily watch something grow in the right timing and steps. That being said, there are different time periods for germination in each seedling. Seed germination depends on internal and external conditions. If we, as christians, are planting the right seeds in us and in others in the right timing, we will watch patiently as each person will reap its own harvest. If we are lacking something on the inside of us, it will effect our "germination" process for the Kingdom. We will not be able to sprout in the proper timing until we deal with what is stopping us from being able to work with what is around us. Basically we are the seed; if the inside of us, being our heart and motives, are not aligned well with the soil around us; our fellowship, our family and our relationship with God; we will not see proper growth and we may even hit a dead patch. Our spirits may be craving more living water; the word of God. We may need more oxygen; the Holy Spirit to breath into us more. We may be in a time of waiting and need more loving nourishment; our prayers to God to increase. Just as a seed can be lacking, it can also be in need of more waiting and resting time. If we try to drown out a seed with too much water before it has even sprouted we can ruin the process all together. If we shine too much light on it we can cause the soil to dry out and the seed will never be ready to germinate. Again, nothing will grow. When we are reaching out to minister God's word to others we must follow the steps of Jesus' advice and be tender and patient as we allow each "seed" to take exactly the right steps they need to take; " But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." (James 1:4)

The last thing we want to do is cause someone to stop growing. It is our job to help grow the kingdom of heaven but it takes a lot of care and the right timing, God's timing, not ours. Sometimes as we are desparate for someone to know God we will end up pushing things at them too quickly; we will drown them out with too much of God's word before they are even ready for it. We will preach and teach to them on our own accord and cause their joy to dry out. We must be tender and long suffering just as God is for us; The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

(II Peter 3:9)

If we begin to sow the wrong seed in the wrong soil at the wrong time, we will reap exactly what we have made; a premature plant not equipped for use. Not to say speaking the word in love is wrong, it most definitely is not. However, let us listen to Gods nudges as He asks guides us in patience to do His perfect will. Those little feelings you get of I should say this now could just very well be the Holy Spirit directing you to speak. That push to silence what you feel you want to say could be the Lord telling you to be quiet at that moment. He is a good teacher for sure. There have been many situations I have badly wanted to sow in a time that was not right, and the Lord stopped me. Eventually His perfect timing came as I was obedient and patient and that very person saw victory and growth. God brings the increase; "So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase."

(I Corinthians 3:7)

The enemy wants nothing more then for us to push hard and fast so that we can kill off each seedling the Lord is working to sprout. Satan will plant foolish things in us that cause discourse over agreement, division over unity and secrets over honesty. He wants to see God's beautiful garden condemned just like he did in the very beginning; "Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

(Genesis 3:1)

If we sow the right seed and have the right patience and confidence in God's timing we will have full trust in His divine plans. He is sovereign and He is good; " But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord G od , That I may declare all Your works." (Psalms 73:28)

He will never cause a person to fail, that is satan's work. We must pray against deception and lies each day. "And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light."

(II Corinthians 11:14)

We, my friends, are under constant attack and we must stay alert and listen to the right voices so that we are not sowing the wrong things into our lives or into others lives. Deception is a warning the Lord gives several times in scripture, especially as the Day gets closer. Let us give ourselves the right nutrients in the right time and let us be ready to sow amongst others when we have grown in proper light ourselves. For whatever we sow we will reap. We do not want to come to the judgement seat with God telling us we did not listen. "For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life." (Galatians 6:8)

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for your longsuffering and patience as You watch me grow. Thank you for trusting in me to be used as Your vessel to help others grow in proper time. Help me to have the same patience You have as I listen for Your voice. Help me to never become deceived so I do not listen to the lies of the enemy and push when I need to wait. Show me what You need of me today for this day only and I shall follow Your guidance. I am so honored to be Your child and Your servant in this world. I am so blessed to be surrounded by the right fellowship so that I can take root and grow taller and taller to reach the Kingdom. Jesus, surround me with the right nutrients I need to sow bountifully so I may reap bountifully. In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
