Signed, Sealed, Delivered. I'm His.

May 8, 2021

You yourselves write a decree concerning the Jews, as you please, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s signet ring; for whatever is written in the king’s name and sealed with the king’s signet ring no one can revoke.”

~Esther 8:8~

Today as I approached the Lord in deep prayer asking what He would like me to write about, Holy Spirit had me open my bible to the book of Esther. I thought perhaps He wanted me to address the story of her life and how God used another woman to help free His people from the evil in which had taken place yet again. Haman the Agagite devised a scheme against the jewish people and Esther was injected to receive mercy. We see this happening on several occasions throughout history. God's people are in sudden danger and God sends someone in to shift the plans of the enemy.

My focus however, was not planted on Esther herself, rather on the signet ring and the symbolism between its use and the sign of our great covenant with Jesus to be!

Ancient kings used signet rings to designate authority, honor, or ownership. Documents were sealed with a dollop of wax and pressed with the king's signet ring.

The singet ring was mentioned on several occasions, most of which would foreshadow our very present and only King, Jesus Christ and His authority on all of us. He would go on to defeat all kings and authorities and seal His people by His Name.

The prophet Haggai spoke the word proclaiming the coming Messiah and what God would be officially sealing once and for all. "‘In that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says the Lord , ‘and will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you,’ says the Lord of hosts.” (Haggai 2:23)

Zerubbabel was the governor of rebuilt Jerusalem who is also of royal blood as a decendant of David and the grandson of Judah's King Jehoiachin. Jehoiachin had lost his throne when he was deported to Babylon, and was symbolized as a signet ring removed from God's hand; "As I live,” says the Lord , “though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, were the signet on My right hand, yet I would pluck you off."

(Jeremiah 22:24)

We understand the significance of the signet ring, the reason for it and the ways it was spoke about in the Old Testament. When Jesus came, as promised and prophesied, He fulfilled God's declaration and became the seal of His people once and for all that cannot be removed! God reinstated the David line and renewed the covenant with David. God's faithfulness never ends and He always manages a perfect plan to seal His people and deliver them from any present trouble; "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble."(Psalms 46:1)

We can truely rejoice in the Lord's authority and power He holds as King of Kings; He came to claim us all as His, seal us with His signet, with His Name and those who accepts this offer are His forever! He came to overthrow the throne of kingdoms and fulfill all spoken prophecy of the New Covenant; (see Haggai 2:22).

The signet ring was my focus for the very purpose on its strong indication of God's promise that through His Son we are signed, sealed and truely delivered!

"Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them." (Psalms 22:4)

Our High Priest, our King, our Savior is the One who stamps us with His seal of approval. No matter who we are He offers it as a sign to revoke all evil from touching us. He is the only One who is worthy to break the seals of the earth, the title/deed belongs to Him alone and in the end God lays out His wrath upon those who did not choose Him; "But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

(Revelation 5:5)

Praise God for giving us a King who is worthy of all things! Let us choose His seal upon our frail flesh that says we are His. Jesus Christ, God's "signet ring,' establishes His people in the Promised Land and constructs an even greater temple to lead the righteous in never ending worship!

"Then speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying: “Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH! From His place He shall branch out, And He shall build the temple of the Lord ; Yes, He shall build the temple of the Lord . He shall bear the glory, And shall sit and rule on His throne; So He shall be a priest on His throne, And the counsel of peace shall be between them both.” (Zechariah 6:12‭-‬13)

Prayer:

Almighty Adonai, thank you for Your New Covenant that claims me as Yours forever. I choose the seal of the Lord upon me so that I may be redeemed from evil and worship You for all eternity! Lord I am praising Your most Holy Name for coming to flesh and fulfilling all of scripture, sealing it forever and nothing can revoke it. Lead me in the way of everlasting righteousness and show me how I can serve You best. I pray an increase in my faith and use of authority that I am backing. May all glory be given to You for those who witness my walk with You. I could not be here without Your signet ring seal on my life. In the Name of my King of Kings, the One who is worthy of all, Yeshua. Amen.
