Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
~John 16:7~
The Lord came and fulfilled all prophecy and declared freedom through the cross. He was wounded and abused. He was pained and grieved. He became sin for all. The Lord led His disciples on a journey to promises that God had set in motion for them. Each parable, each word and each action was Holy Spirit led; "And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
(Luke 3:22)
Jesus acted according to the will of Him who sent Him. After His trial in the wilderness Jesus went out in the full power of Holy Spirit; "Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region."
(Luke 4:14)
The impartation of Holy Spirit upon our Lord would soon be reality to the "average joes" of our world. He declared the works of God, His Father, and gave Himself as an atonement so that we may go on to have a way to release supernatural blessings coming directly from El Shaddai, the all sufficient One. Jesus tells His disciples that He must go away, for if He does not then the Helper will not come. Jesus had to give His life, rise again and depart to be with Father God so that the day of Pentacost may be fulfilled; "for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” (Acts 1:5)
The gift of Holy Spirit is truely a glorious gift from God. Without Holy Spirit we could not hear, see, understand and move in the power Heaven has to offer. God wants to use us, His children; just as He used Jesus, His only Son; to be the arms, feet and mouth proclaiming and showing His glory. This is how others will know God is with us. We cannot do anything of the sort on our own; "By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God." (I John 4:2)
Anything that declares otherwise is antichrist. Holy Spirit is the least mentioned person in church sermons it seems in most places. I'm not speaking for all of course, many are moving in the Spirit. The devil has blinded such believers to only mention Holy Spirit briefly as routine, but the spiritual gifts of God are not being 100% used the way they really are capable of being. Take a look at these words Jesus spoke to us, His followers; "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father."
(John 14:12)
The Lord speaks of going to be with the Father and sending power to us to do greater works, not just works, greater works then these! How amazing is that?! I am always excited when Abba Father uses me to impart physical or mental healing, deliverance from an unclean spirit or just to pray a blessing over someone and watch it take place as I put all my faith into Holy Spirit's ability to follow through. This is how Jesus lived, we are called to live as He did on earth.
"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." (Galatians 5:25)
Living by the Spirit is all Jesus vowed to do. He was filled by the bread of God, to do the will of God. This should be our main priority in life on earth as well. How honored we should feel to have the baptism of Holy Spirit. One who is mentioned many times as "He," this implies that Holy Spirit is more then just an entity. He is our Helper, our Guide, our Friend; just as the Lord Jesus is these to us, Holy Spirit is equally as important and we shall take this time to really ask for His activation in our life and give Him love and thanksgiving. Today as I prayed to Holy Spirit about what He is calling me to write on, His answer was, "recognition of Me." We must take time out of each day to give thanks and praise to an important piece of the Trinity. Our Helper. Without Him, the apostles would not of been capable of moving forth in Jesus' promise according to Mark 16:17-18. The works of the Lord are done through the dwelling of God's Holy Spirit because apart from Him, we are merely useless humans, living fleshly lives. We need to be a people that are willing to align with the supernatural as they did in the early church and show the signs and wonders of God Almighty who is desiring to use His children just as He used Jesus Christ. For Jesus resides in us. What a beautiful gift that the cross completed for us. Jesus made it very clear, if He did not obey and do what He was meant to do, we would not have our Helper to do what we are meant to do now.
Prayer:
Lord God, I thank You so much for Your promise which was fulfilled by sending forth Your Holy Spirit to dwell in Your believers. I want to take time now to welcome You Holy Spirit into my life to impart all of the spiritual gifts Father has for me, i rebuke anything that may hinder me from receiving You fully. I want to walk in the fullness of God and live according to the Spirit not according to the flesh. Guide me in the way of everlasting and purify my heart Holy Spirit. Convict me in the ways I need to change to be holy and set apart for God in all things. I bless this day in Jesus Name and I am willing to be used as You see fit. It is in this very Name I pray and rejoice for the greatest gift of all, my Helper. Amen.
