The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.
~Lamentations 3:25~
A true relationship to one is to give the other person your solid attention, to grow with them and to be beside them. If one were to get caught up focusing on someone else aside from the person they made the commitment with, that person would get jealous or feel abandoned wouldnt they? So when we make a commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ we are signing our contract with Him, that we vow to grow in relationship to Him. Do we want to make Him feel abandoned? The whole purpose to the Lord's arrival to earth was to gain His children's relationship through the work on the cross. To take back what is rightfully His; us. He loves us so much and asks us just as He asked His disciples to "follow Him."
"After these things He went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.”
(Luke 5:2)
"Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." (Matthew 16:24)
Many times, to many people, Jesus recites to follow Him. He still does every day. In order to grow in our relationship we must seek Him with all of our heart. Seeking one requires researching one's deep interests, sacrificing your own interests all together and joining to what is more acceptable to them. One typically wines and dines another who wants to know more about their life. We may ask questions to understand more, spend long nights staying up with them just chatting and getting to know them; we may even look through old photos of them to know their backround. Whatever it may take we strive to know more about them so we can align our hearts to theirs and complete our bond. As a christian we are not just called to attend a church once a week and sometimes pray for things we need. It is a deep relationship that we have signed on to. If we are as serious about this love as He is we will seek more of Him each day. The hunger will grow in us for more of Him. It will never be enough for us as we truely meet the true Jesus Christ. We can hear about Him from others but it is only when we seek after intimacy ourselves we can follow after Him and will never want to rid ourselves of this love as we personally experience Him.
"One thing I have desired of the Lord , That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord , And to inquire in His temple."(Psalms 27:4)
To desire to know Jesus Christ should be our deepest passion, to seek Him and Him alone, to behold His beauty. The biggest desire of the Lord is for us to desire Him and to love Him. Isn't that amazing? The Creator of the universe, the One who came in the flesh to die for us desires nothing more then for all of us to seek Him and know Him. How do we seek the Lord fervently? Earnestly pray to Him and praise Him; "Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving."
(Colossians 4:2)
Draw near to Him with our heart and purify ourselves; "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." (James 4:8)
Abide in His word each and everyday as often as we possibly can; "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you."
(John 15:7)
Believe in who He says He is; "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
(John 7:38)
The more we seek the Lord and love Him the stronger we become through Him. When we are in this relationship and we feel the love of God filling our hearts deeply; it will push out our own desires and we will become one with the Lord. "But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him."(I Corinthians 6:17)
Just as we are called to be one flesh with our husbands or wives, we are called to be one with Jesus even more so. Jesus can handle all of our natural relationships as we trust in Him first, put Him in the center and praise Him in the good and bad times. When we become faithful to Him, the windows of heaven will open and the Lord sends us His rain of blessings.
This is such a gift to have communion with Jesus Christ, the Son of God; "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." (James 1:17)
If we really mean buisness, if we truely want to grow in our faith and see the glory of the Lord God Almighty; let us seek Him more each day. I promise that the more you do, the more you will hear Him, know Him and serve Him. The reward is unlike any other relationship that could ever be formed.
"And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
(Jeremiah 29:13) Glory be to Jesus Christ!
Go after Him, He's waiting!
Prayer:
Gracious God, thank you for the gift of communion with You and Your beautiful Son. The One whom I seek with my whole heart. I desire more of You and I pray to have my ears opened up to hear Your precious voice as You instruct me what to do and what to say. I cannot be led any other way for I will fall if I try. I long to know You intimately, I hunger for Your presence each day in my life. Send me a sign Jesus, speak to Your servant and teach me Your ways more. I am nothing without You. I praise You for the ability to know You, for making a way and loving me so deeply that You gave me a way to be led into this wilderness of this world with Your Spirit guiding me safely. For You know the best path, I decree I shall follow that alone. Steer me away from evil and snares set by the devil. Glory be to You Father God for Your amazing sacrificial love. I pray more people, including myself, seek to know the very deepest part of You and to grow from faith to faith. In the Mighty Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
