See The Victory!

May 15, 2021

Then David spoke to the Lord the words of this song, on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul.

~II Samuel 22:1~

David had a history of preparing, fighting, and winning with God on his side. He knew that as long as God was with him that victory was always going to be the outcome in the end. He was paired up to battle giants in those days, we are talking about men in stature of at least 10 feet tall. David's first encounter in battle as a young boy was with Goliath, who was a giant. David's last battle as a man would go on to be with more Philistine giants. From child to man, he fought and defeated what most would believe to be impossible. David had the most important key to seeing victory; faith in God. "So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God." (Mark 11:22)

He was one to walk by faith, not by sight. As we keep our eyes upon God, the Mighty One who defeats all, we take our eyes off our circumstance in front of us. Like in David's case, 10-12 foot tall men in front of us will not produce fear in us, for we will know God always wins. We must believe in victory we do not see yet. Too often we focus on our problems right in front of us. We ask questions like, "how can I ever get through this?" We attempt to make our own solutions with our own human strength. This will not produce such victory. What would of happened if David and his men went to battle these Philistine men in their own strength and with their own strategy? Would they have witnessed such defeat over their enemies? Without God, we must realize we are only human; "And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power." (I Corinthians 2:4)

God's power and wisdom had went with David to battle and his faith brought forth the agreement with God's ability to carry out His promises. We must be able to see the victory before it comes! There are times in life when we will come across battles with others in the world, financial issues, health issues, family issues or even issues within ourselves. With all of these, God is saying, "Let me help you see the victory." There are plans God has for each of us to defeat whatever the devil throws our way, we must trust in the only One who defeated the works of the devil; "He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil."

(I John 3:8)

Jesus now carries through with that same power God rested upon David in the battle with the Philistines, the difference is He dwells inside of us. We are walking with the Spirit of God inside of us and we are capable of defeating every giant that tries to intimidate us. The victory is the cross!

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."

(I Corinthians 1:18)

It is our very power to seeing victory. Patience plays a huge role in regards to seeing a win with God, but as we walk by faith He is releasing glory according to our belief system; "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

(Hebrews 11:6)

David pleased God with his great faith. He may have gotten emotional at times, he may have sinned greatly; yet he always hungered for more of God and His mercy. David understood basic humanity and that left to our own devices we will stumble. God always came through in the end as David searched for more of His power. The power of God takes down all giants, all fears, all armies and it always brings forth victory for those who have chosen Him. Let us choose to truely believe in who God is. If we aren't sure, it may be time to take more alone time in silence with the Word and our prayers to get to know God personally. Just as David did, we too can know the Lord at an intimate level. It is what He desires for all. Once we know Jesus rather then just about Jesus, we can stand up against a 10-12 foot man who may try to intimidate us too and declare the Lord's victory over them and see it happen. It is up to us whether we want to walk in faith, or cower in fear. We cannot do both my friends; "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (II Timothy 1:7)

The spirit of fear does not come from God and it will conflict with His power. Fear limits the outcome of His victory because it is displeasing to Him, just as it was with Gideon's army; "Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.’ ” And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained." (Judges 7:3)

Jesus wants us to see the victory He is preparing for all of us in this moment. He already defeated the enemy, it is done! Its our job to believe in God who still makes our giants fall and fight with Him believing He will always win. Let us be Davids in this world, wake up to the truth of God's power and see Jesus, take up our cross and follow Him to freedom!

Prayer:

Abba Father, thank you for Your Spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Thank you for freeing me on the cross! Help my unbelief and remove any fear that may be hindering me from seeing the victory that is already coming. I know that You are Greater then any giant I may face, literal or nonliteral. My God will never fail, this I believe. I am praising You and shouting as Your servants did at the wall of Jericho and believing that all my uneasy circumstances will soon be defeated. Let Your Name be glorified in my life, let Your power be shown and let Your grace be magnified as I walk beside You. It is because of You I am strong in faith. It is because I know You that it increases. I receive victory today in the Name above all names, Jesus Christ. Amen.
