I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives.
~Ecclesiastes 3:12~
What a beautiful day it was today! I have sat outside in beautiful weather, given to us by God. I have listened to God's word, given to us by Him of course. I have worshipped to beautiful music played by talented hands, given to us by God. I have eaten delicious food and dessert, given to us by God. There is truely so much to rejoice for! A day of rest in which we can honor our King all day long with close loved ones who God connected to us, gives us everything to smile about. He gives us support. He shows us love. "Let brotherly love continue." (Hebrews 13:1)
The goodness in which Jesus brings us emanates from one brother/sister to the next. We spread the goodness of Christ within us and we rejoice for it! This verse really states it matter of fact; nothing really is better for us then this! We were made in His image to praise, give thanks and to do what is good. This is our original design and this is how the Father looks to His children to serve Him. "For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body— whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit."
(I Corinthians 12:13)
Let us rejoice on such a beautiful day! A day that is not too hot and not too cold. A day that is filled with laughter and provision. A day that gives our weary souls rest in Jesus' arms. We live because we have a good God. We smile because He gave us the ability to. We gather together because He brings us together. We walk in spirit because He gives us power to do so. Let us rejoice my friends! "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" (Philippians 4:4)
Even as we get discouraged by the battle surrounding us, we can rejoice! Even as the tunnel keeps narrowing in on us, we can rejoice! Even as our health seems to be going downhill, we can rejoice! Even if we struggle financially, we can rejoice! For there is nothing better for us then to do this very thing. As we praise, as we rejoice, as we continue to do good in the midst of our personal storms; Jesus is ready to bless us for our faithfulness. He is idling standing by watching for His children to live the life He called us to live; "not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing."
(I Peter 3:9)
There is beauty all around us, the devil likes to distract us from it emotionally and physically, but guess what? Satan is a liar! We are children of God Almighty and we shall prevail against any evil tactic that smacks us in the face, sometimes that's exactly what it feels like too. Let us rise up and rejoice and do what is good in the sight of the Lord; mentally, physically and spiritually it will fill us and strengthen us. "Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore."
(Psalms 37:27)
We know that as we follow the Lord's leading, it will be the best thing for us! According to the book of Ecclesiastes, all else is meaningless, right? There is a time for everything under the sun and God should be feared. Rather simple yet truthful. God put us here to do His good works, should we choose to do so. He desires to bless His children, should we choose to follow that path leading to it. He longs for intimate relationship and rejoicing with us, should we take it upon ourselves to give Him our time. We only get one life to live, let us choose wisely and rejoice, doing good in the lives He has given us for the glory of the One and only Jesus Christ!
Prayer:
Abba Father, thank you for this life and the ability to rejoice for it. Lord, no matter what goes on around me help me to always do what is good according to Your will. I pray that those who may be struggling right now may have the divine strength and joy from heaven so they may see beyond their circumstance and rejoice with us. Life isn't always what it seems and You are full of surprises. I know I can trust in You each day and walk in the plan You have for me to follow Your example in doing what is good and pure. I receive blessings and glory over my family in which You have blessed me with. May all that I do be good in Your sight, may all that I say be a sound of praise for Your greatness. I want to endure to the end for You just as You did for me. In the Name of my Redeemer and Friend whom I rejoice for and with, Jesus Christ. Ame
