Prepare To Go Far

October 4, 2021

We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the Lord our God as He will command us.”

~Exodus 8:27~

Today the Lord spoke these words to me as I spent the day resting and being rejuvenated in my body and spirit. "Prepare to go far," as I laid still wondering what this could mean according to His will and according to His word. It reminded me of many instances in the bible when God called His children to venture out on long journeys to fulfill what the Lord has led them to. The israelites saved from their overwhelming lives as slaves in Egypt, to be led out on foot to go far in order that they worship God and obey.

"So they said, “The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go three days’ journey into the desert and sacrifice to the Lord our God, lest He fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword.” (Exodus 5:3)

Their want for freedom and love for God caused them to really listen to what was to be.

What kind of relationship do you have with Jesus right now? If He called you to go on such a journey, would you listen? Would you be willing? The Lord is faithful in that even as the israelites knew they were to leave on such a long trip, He guided them in preparation before it was time to go.

"You shall let none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover."

(Exodus 12:10‭-‬11)

Preparing is key and it is protection our Abba provides to each of us. If God instructed to leave no food behind until morning and to remain in belt, sandals and rod in hand then surely He was preparing them to go far. It also was to be an abrupt calling that they be already dressed. Bellies as full as possible and attire ready for a long journey out. The Lord may be preparing each of us in different ways today to go far with Him. He may be giving those of us extra time with loved ones we usually don't get to see. He may be guiding us to have more food on hand. He may be getting us ready to make a big change in our work enviroment. What so ever the preparation is for each of us, I believe this message is for all of us when He says "prepare to go far." What would of came to be had not the israelites obeyed Moses' instruction in the first place?

"And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God."

(Deuteronomy 28:2)

The blessings come as we take Jesus' advice. Ask the Lord today, "what is it Lord that I need to be preparing myself for?"

Let Holy Spirit press into you and tell you how far He is about to take you. We all have purpose, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Sometimes preparation can seem scary but imagine if we did not have time to prepare at all. Jesus is gentle and He knows what we need in each moment. Let this message ring loud in our prayers to Father. How can we prepare and just how far will You be taking us? He is faithful to give understanding; "The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple." (Psalms 119:130)

Guide us in Your light, Jesus. Shine on the path so that we are prepared to go as far as You need us to go.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for being so gentle to me and heeding me warning and understanding. I ask for more of Your wisdom moving forward, especially in the times I am living in. Let everything I do be according to Your will. Obedience is number one in my heart and I strive to go where You tell me to and be ready in advance. I give praise to Your Name as I always have provision to get to where I need to get to. Bless all of my brothers and sisters in the journey You call them to. Give them strength and understanding where they need it most. Blessings and glory in the Name of my King Jesus Christ. Amen.
