Patience For Blessings

February 4, 2021

rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;

~Romans 12:12~

Are you the type of person that just can't bear to wait for things to turn around, for prayers to be answered, for God to show you a sign? It seems as though all of us have these kind of issues at times. As humans, we strive for a "quick fix," or an "easy way out." We want results right away, even if it doesn't give us exactly what we hoped for. We are willing to make something work out of nothing just so we don't have to wait. The Lord tells us to be patient many times in the bible. He has been telling His people for years to be patient and for years they refuse. The Israelites wandered the desert impatient while they approached the promised land God was giving to them, because of their lack of patience, God extended their time with which they would enter; "And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet."

(Deuteronomy 29:5)

Even though all that wandering, waiting and complaining took place God still supplied all they needed. He was so faithful, even as He made them wait. This is the God we serve, He loves us even as we doubt Him; "But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one."

(II Thessalonians 3:3)

The Lord calls us to be faithful to Him back as we trust in His ways and acknowledge His righteousness. He knows best, we do not. This is why we are given His guide, the Holy Spirit. I know most times we cannot understand why He does what He does, or in the time frame He does them, but it is not our job to understand it all. We need to understand that He is in control and He is our fortress and His timing is always perfect ; "He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He." (Deuteronomy 32:4)

He is who is He. We tend to change our ways at times, but God never does. Let us take a step back and think about just how patient God has always been waiting on His children; "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." (II Peter 3:9)

The Father gave His only Son to be a sacrifice for our sins to be redeemed, as we believe in Him we are called to now wait patiently in love and longsuffer just as He has for us. When we begin to feel as though we are not getting all we hoped for or we just can't bear to wait any longer that we want to force something to happen our way; we should stop and think about the possible damage it could do as we do our own will verses waiting on God's will to be done. If Jesus had not done it God's way we would not have the oppurtunity to know Him today. We would still be alienated from Him; "that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world."

(Ephesians 2:12)

Without a connection to our Father we would be without hope. This is something we need to fully latch on to, the hope that Jesus gave us when He shed His blood so we could know Him. So we could be the righteousness of God in Him. When we take our concerns and prayers to God we must remember He is faithful to answer these prayers; whether it is a yes, no or wait. If He calls us to wait, it is because He is planning something much greater then what we asked for. Our patience will be worth it in the end, I promise you. When my husband and I were trying to conceive our daughter it took us almost two years to finally get pregnant, we never gave up and although it was so frustrating and depressing at times to wait month after month, when she finally came into this world God showed us just how perfect He truely made her for us. She bearly gave us any issue as a newborn, she only cried when she was gassy, she listened when we said no at such a young age, she didnt make much of a mess even for a baby and now she is a seven year old God fearing child who looks up to us, obeys us and is incredibly smart just as God has made her. We look back at all those times of waiting and realized God had the perfect timing for us to receive our little angel from heaven. Here we are back in the same moment of waiting, as we try for our second child. We have been waiting since september of 2019, with two early pregnancy losses in the process. We never once blamed God, gave up or lost our faith in Him. We know God has a better plan for us, we know that the child He will give us again will be just as perfect and truely annointed to do something big. This is the beauty of waiting. Just as the birth of our beautiful Messiah was long awaited, it was in the absolute right time and He was truely worth the wait. God will always bless those who trust in Him, it may not be in our time, but He loves us and wants us to be fruitful and multiply. This goes for anything our heart desires, so long as it is reasonable and biblical based; God will do it. It just may take longer then you hoped for. Know that patience is everything to God, it will have its reward in time; "But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." (James 1:4)

As we trust in God in the waiting seasons, we will be shaped and molded with strong character that God has created us to be, in His image. Do not cease to pray on what you hope for, have persistant faith and be patient in times of tribulation and waiting. Rejoice in the things you cannot see yet as you remember the faithfulness of God's promises. Faith is trusting for things unseen, as we truely believe in what we pray for we shall receive them, it just may not be right away. It may even be years, but the blessings will be far greater then if you had forced them to come your own way and in your own timing. " Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time." (I Peter 5:6)

Be patient my friends, His blessings are great. His timing is perfect and He shall exalt us when the time is right.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for being so patient with me as You waited for my obedience and love for You. Thank you for Your blessings as You rain them upon me in Your due season. I know that as I wait and trust in You the blessings will multiply and the timing will be perfect, just as You are perfect. Thank you for working everything out for my best interest and knowing exactly what I need and when I need it. I put all my trust in You as I wait and I shall pray without ceasing and giving up hope. I refuse to let the enemy lie to me and make me give up. You never gave up on me, I will never give up on You. All praise be to You for shedding Your precious blood for me to become one with Your Spirit and to have constant communion with the Father in heaven. Use me today to glorify Your sweet Name so that we can reach more people to join the kingdom of light. Thank you for always hearing me and answering my prayers, no matter what that answer may be I shall wait on You. In Your most patient longsuffering Name I pray, Jesus Christ. Amen.
