Overcomer

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

~Romans 12:21~

We are all facing quite a bit of spiritual warfare. Satan is getting nervous of God's children as they wake up and get moving for the Lord. The attempts of his distraction and discouragement seem to be constant in these days we live in. People fighting against people. Truth against error. Depression, anger and despair arise and our enemy is clapping his hands truely believing he is winning. There is only one issue, our God is greater everytime! "And the temple which I build will be great, for our God is greater than all gods." (II Chronicles 2:5)

Even the god of this world has no effect on followers of Jesus. We are lied to quite a bit; the devil whispers to us that we "are not strong enough," or "God does not care;" tearing us down so that we may not really know who we are in Christ.

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)

We are created in Jesus for the works of Adonai. We have all ability by His Blood to testify and defeat the works of our Adversary. He already lost the battle, we are here to claim that with the good that is within us. God is good and satan is evil; we must pick a side and what so ever we use will determine if we win in our own individual battles. Are we being overcomers of evil or are we attempting to be overcomers of good?

"A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit." (Matthew 7:18)

This determines the team we are on. Are we defeating the wiles of the devil in love? Love conquers all, without it we do not actually know God; "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God." (I John 4:7)

Anything that is good comes from our Father in Heaven and He has control over all of Creation. We have a choice to make whether we want to be overcomers or to be overcome. There is no in between my friends. The Lord is telling us that we need to declare all the work He has already done, that we are in no need to try and control our own circumstances but to trust in Him enough to surrender it. Declaring the word of God and being bold against evil will always win. Jesus Himself did so and then called us to follow Him in the same way. Do we believe that we are ambassadors of Jesus Christ as we wake up each day? Do we declare blessings over our entire day and give it completely to God? These are important ways of overcoming evil with good. To wake up and tell the devil that he has no jurisdiction over the rest of our day and that we are children of the most High, he will have no choice but to go somewhere else for a time.

Saying it is one thing. Are we believing it? Let us dive deep within ourselves and ask God if we are holding on to any doubt concerning who He is and who we are in Him. We serve a Sovereign God who is capable of giving the blind sight, defeating armies two to one, turning seas into blood and making night and day come together in the sky. This is God today too! He never changes. Let us keep reminding ourselves this whenever we get hit with an attack from the inside or the outside. The devil is a liar and faith overcomes what we cannot see yet.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

(Hebrews 11:1)

Our enemy does not want us to use our faith because he knows what it will do to his tactics, they will all fail. Let us speak out loud what we truely believe and be careful to speak anything evil over ourselves or our loved ones. Words are powerful;

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit."

(Proverbs 18:21)

This is why the word of God is our sword in battle to defeat, to derail and overcome evil. Good vs. Evil is the battle we have signed up for with Christ. Are we willing to take a stand and declare what our Father has spoken for our lives or are we going to allow evil to overcome us? I come into agreement with all of you right now that our Father is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End; what He has given us is far exceedingly abundant above all else that we ask or think. We are conquerors in Jesus Christ, we are representatives of the Kingdom in which the throne resides. The devil has lost this war already and we stand and pull down every stronghold that keeps us in bondage, we bind every principality and power that attempts distruction in our life and we take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

Let us declare this over our days and let us overcome the evil in this world with the good of Heaven above!

Prayer:

Lord God, I am thankful for the greatness that is within me that can only come from You. You are good and I know that with You I can overcome all things that come against me for evil. The Lord shed His Blood for my freedom and I refuse to allow the devil a foothold in my day. I exalt Jesus Christ's Name on High and decree out loud the final victory and destiny which He has given to me. I choose to follow You and I choose to believe in Your word which says no weapon formed against me shall prosper. As I worship You, I rest in Your Presence and pray a divine overwhelming peace to fill my mind, body, soul and spirit. I realign myself to You today and surrender this day for Your Glory not my own. In Jesus Mighty and Victorious Name I pray. Amen.
