Merry CHRISTmas, A Day Of God's Love

December 25, 2020

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

~Isaiah 9:6~

Today is a very special day to all of us. To those of us who know our Lord and Savior it is even more then special. It is a remembrance of what our Father God has done for us, even to those of whom do not know the Lord. We remember the day our Father fulfilled His ultimate promise, the coming of the Messiah, the One who is to save us from our sins and wipe them completely clean with His own blood; " He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea." (Micah 7:19)

We remember the miracle of the virgin birth. We remember the faithfulness. We remember the patience. We remember the mercy. Our Father who came in the flesh to die in the flesh. The prophecy was being fulfilled and the people of Israel were about to witness their Savior first hand, not as a man but as a babe. The King of Kings who stretched out His hand above the earth and formed everything in it and above it nestled in Mary's arms as life itself; "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

(John 14:6)

Today we give gifts not because we deserve them, not because Santa brings them; but because we remember the greatest gift that was given to us, Jesus Christ. He came to save us. He came to love us. He came to heal us. He came to teach us. The greatest sign of the Father's love; "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Our Lord Jesus Christ came to defeat satan once and for all and He did! Glory to God! We celebrate today with so many emotions, but the biggest one we should celebrate in is love. Love for the Father and thanksgiving for giving us a way out of eternal darkness. Christmas to us as His followers symbolize a powerful sacrifice; "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends." (John 15:13)

Jesus laid down His life for us and then called us His friends; "No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you."

(John 15:15) Today my friends, let us think of the Fathers great love He gave when He really didnt have to. When we start to focus on ourselves and what we "did or didn't get for Christmas," remember we already received a gift that no other gift can replace. Let us pray and praise today to the Name of our Lord and Redeemer, who was sent for one purpose alone; "to set us free."

"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." (John 8:36)

For every present we may receive let us thank God, because without His love we wouldn't be here to celebrate to begin with. He is our gift. He is our reason for the season. Honor our Father today for His beautiful baby boy that He gave to us when we truely didn't deserve Him. Merry Christmas my family, May the Lord bless you and keep you!

Prayer:

Gracious Father, thank you for loving me so much that You sent Your one and only Son here to set me free! What a beautiful promise You have fulfilled, I honor You everyday but most of all today. This holiday is for You Father. This day is all thanks to You and Your amazing Son. Thank you for sending forth my Savior as a newborn so that I can cherish life itself even more as You have created it to be. A precious life given for us to be saved from our sins, I give all the thanks, honor and glory to You and know that You truely love me and no devil in hell can change that. Your word shall not return void and I am forever grateful to the new covenant which You formed to allow me to become adopted into Your royal family forever! Merry Christmas Jesus, its all for You! It's in Your loving Name I pray. Amen.
