Listen To Jesus

March 22, 2021

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

~Mark 9:23~

Sometimes to believe means doing things you would of never imagined. It means to trust when it seems impossible to trust at all. It means to see things being victorious when everything around you seems to be falling apart. It means to believe in things that seem absolutely silly because you are so used to trusting in what your eyes can see. I used to think this way myself before I was saved. I used to say, "I'll believe it when I see it." The problem is, now I meet christian folks who basically say the same thing without even realizing the unbelief in their hearts.

We cannot simply believe in only what we see, if we are doing so we are not walking by faith. "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

(II Corinthians 5:7)

Believing in the unseen means to truely believe in God. Jesus Christ walked this earth telling all who He passed by to believe. He wanted us to understand what it was like to worship God in spirit and receive the things of heaven. In order to receive, we must first believe. "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

(Matthew 21:22)

Do you remember the way Jesus marveled at the unbelief in people? "Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching." (Mark 6:5‭-‬6)

It wasn't that Jesus was ever incapable of doing the mighty works in these places, it was simply the lack of belief that caused no reception on their part. We can pray over others, we can watch as they begin to become healed or delivered; yet if they do not believe in what just occured and stand on it praising God, it may just come back or not last very long at all. As we begin to waver we begin to doubt in God. Doubt is very damaging in our life and we have an enemy who knows this and uses this against us all the time. God can't be pleased by unbelief. It is faith alone with love backing it up that causes one to fully receive the true blessings God has in store for all of us. "For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

(II Corinthians 1:20)

Abraham believed God even in the midst of the most difficult tasks, he loved God and he feared God. "He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God."

(Romans 4:20)

Abraham didn't waver. He didn't doubt. He may have struggled with each decision as he was only human in this, yet he believed enough to receive the promises of God for the glory of God. Little did Abraham know, he would be called the father of many nations for his amazing faith; "(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did." (Romans 4:17)

Look at what is available to us my friends when we simply believe. Our job as we follow Jesus is to truely listen to Him. When Jesus tells us nothing is impossible with Him, why do we still wonder if a prayer we speak or a job He has for us to do will turn into glory in the end? Can we go back to truely believing as those who crawled their way to Jesus to receive their healing or freedom? "Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.”(Luke 18:42)

"And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” (Mark 5:34)

"Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour." (Matthew 15:28)

There is nothing that pleases our Lord more then believing in God. When we understand how faith is activated and used for blessings and glory we can truely feel His peace, see His gifts unfold in our lives and grow in strength. From faith to faith we will be brought from glory to glory. "For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)

Without the ability to truely believe, we are merely spinning on a hamster wheel of life wondering why we haven't made it out yet. Most of the time the answer lies in our own hands, in our own way of thinking and in our way of reacting. We like to point fingers at others for our shortcomings when in reality let us turn those fingers around and point them back at ourselves. Right now in 2021 I am sure Jesus again is marveling at the unbelief. I am sure He is on the edge of His throne waiting to see His children wake up and start activating the power and authority He sent to us after His ascension to heaven.

He is eagerly wanting more of us to listen to Him and understand the power of faith. He couldnt have taught it any clearer to us in the scriptures. We just refuse to believe. It is that simple my brothers and sisters. Let us abide more in His presence, pray for the grace in any weak area we may have and start believing that when we say "amen" the prayers are answered one way or another and we can put all our trust in Him as we progress in our walk beside Him. "Wait on the Lord ; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord !" (Psalms 27:14)

Let us listen to the Lord in His teachings and not just read about them, but whole heartedly believe in them. You will be as suprised as those who were blind as they received their sight and grew in faith. Jesus is still the same. These miracles never stopped. They live on and it is our job to act upon them.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for the faith that is planted in me waiting to take root and grow each day. I pray for understanding on the areas I may be lacking to please You. Lord help me to focus on my faith alone and truely believe in the promises ahead of me. I believe You are able to work wonders and signs through my own hands which are Your vessels. I believe You are still able to set the captives free through the working of Your Holy Spirit within me. I believe You can still restore sight to the blind, sound to the deaf, activity to the lame. I believe that what so ever I ask for from You according to Your will, it will be granted to me! Thank you for Your amazing grace that has set me free and allowed me to choose an abundant life full of faith in You. Without You, I would not know about the unseen. I would not comprehend things far beyond my reach. I would not be able to help others to see and live this way. I'm forever grateful of Your presence, as it is active and powerful in my life. Use me in faith today to be a blessing to Your children. To encourage those around me to truely believe in what You have in store for them. Greater are Your works and Holy is Your Name! Praises be to You Lord Jesus for the power and authority that is within You stretched out across this earth giving glory and honor to the Father. It is in Your Name I believe and receive a wonderfully filled day, Jesus Christ. Amen.
