Jesus Came For All Sinners

April 20, 2021

When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

~Mark 2:17~

The Pharisees had a reputation of judging others for every little thing a person did and insisted they were a complete abomination. I'm not going to sit here and put down the Pharisees because frankly, they did not know any better then to think they were doing God's work. They lived according to the law for it was all they knew and they tried their best to obey the Father. Let us take a step back and think to ourselves if we were in their shoes, or sandals rather; would we know any better then them? Of course not. Let's not point fingers but rather understand they meant well and when Jesus arrived they were very confused. These men worked, lived, ate and worshipped God and yet satan got ahold of them. We all have the ability to be the same way. "Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve." (Luke 22:3)

One of Jesus' own disciples was turned towards the enemy. It saddened Jesus, not because He would be betrayed, because frankly He knew Judas would the moment He chose him. It was part of God's plan. Jesus was sad because Judas was truely lost and Jesus has compassion even on those who choose to do wrong. Jesus came for all sinners, this is what He was explaining to the Pharisees in this verse today. If there was anyone in the world who was perfectly without sin then Jesus would not have had to come. He compares the lost to the sick who need a doctor. Jehovah Rapha, our Great Physician, came to heal the sick, cast out demons and save the lost. "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give." (Matthew 10:8)

If we receive such a gift of freedom from the Lord, we should be using those gifts to do the same for others rather then point fingers and condemn. For God did not come to condemn but to save. Jesus came for all of us, for every single being in this earth is in need of a Savior and that is Jesus Christ. Without Him, we are separated from God. We need His garments of righteousness to be adopted into His Family. "to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons."

(Galatians 4:5)

For some are still insisting on being like Pharisees, they are lost in their own sin of judging. Like the Pharisees, we live according to the law at times and all we need is true faith in Christ, to put on the love of Christ so that we may turn and do His work with Him. "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

Jesus needed to come for all, because none were without sin. Those who seem confused about their own sin, let us explain the cross to them and pray over them for understanding and the peace of God. For if any of us were perfect we would not have needed Him. Once we can put aside our own pride and understand that it is everyone not just them over us, we can walk in love helping those He brings us near. He has His perfect divine appointments and He uses us to reach His children who need an ear to hear. Without wondering if it is the right time or thing to do and quenching the Holy Spirit; take the leap and believe God is moving for that person's life just as He did for us! God is so good and He wants all of His children back. This is why Jesus wept even with understanding, He loves and feels for all of His children and He wants us to love and know Him just as much.

So even when we feel the need to point fingers at someone we "believe is doing worse then us," let's remember we too need a Savior, we too sin from time to time and we too need repentance. We will never be perfect but we will be covered by His perfectness to know God and partner with Him to spread that gift forward. Without us doing so, many will not be able to hear and see the message of the gospel. He needs us to reach to all sinners right when He tells us to and how. Let's dive deeper into communion with God so that we may hear His voice directing us each where to go and what to say. He has a perfect plan for all of us, its just a matter of tapping into it. Thank you Jesus for our liberty!

Prayer:

King of Kings, Great Majesty, I give thanks for Your great sacrifice for all. You do not leave anyone out of Your gift of life, You want all. Lord, I know I am far from perfect and without You I would be on my way to the pit. Lead me to the lost and broken who need to hear Your words and see Your love freely given. Keep me from becoming confused as the Pharisees were. I bless this day for my brothers, my sisters, those who are in this world feeling alone, confused and those who think they are living for You and in need of freedom from judgement towards others. I pray more are healed deep within themselves so that more can feel Your fullness within. I am blessed to have You right within me and I long to glorify Your Name more each day. I live for You and I know I am in need of Your righteousness always. You are so good and true to all. May honor be given to You and more turn back to know Your grace. In the Name of our Savior I pray and receive glory in my life, Jesus Christ. Amen.
