The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
~Romans 13:12~
Each and everyday we come across new "what ifs," new "why mes," new "not nows."
We begin to shuffle the madness inside our flesh and struggle with attempted solutions in our own minds. We stop to think about each way we can defeat these emotions. There is one and only one way my friends, the Lord Jesus Christ right beside you. He awaits for that simple prayer that reaches out in faith to receive His assistance. Only He can give us strength, self control and endurance that allows us to truely stand.
"O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle." (Psalms 140:7)
If we can't come to terms with our own faith and grow in it, we will begin to turn to things around us instead of His divine ability to lift our burdens. There may be burdens strategically allowed to take over us for a moment in order to work on our growth. Beauty comes from ashes and if the Lord gave us a free ride each time, how then can we see the glory unfold when we are built up in the midst of our battle? How then will we believe that each time we push on ahead, God is right there at the end to glorify it?
"If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately." (John 13:32)
Our faith determines who we go to first. It determines how we receive what we ask for.
"And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22)
Our faith grows each moment we seek the Lord. It grows as we walk in His will and declare His faithfulness out loud.
"for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak." (Ephesians 6:20)
It grows as we study His word and allow it to seep into our hearts. That growing faith keeps us as we keep it until the Day of salvation. Each day we arise from our beds we are closer to that Day. Let us choose to walk it out in glorious faith, trusting in the Lord's ways even if we find ourselves asking "why?" or "how can this be?" We cannot understand everything but we can know the One who does and believe He wants what is best for our journey. "therefore, brethren, in all our affliction and distress we were comforted concerning you by your faith. For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord."
(I Thessalonians 3:7-8)
Encouragement from one brother/sister to the next lifts our faith higher together. We cherish each spoken word of God and latch on to them together. We build up the Church of Jesus Christ and increase Kingdom glory. If we are lacking in an area of our faith, the enemy will use this against us to make a way in to discourage, dissappoint or frustrate us. Let us keep our eyes completely focused on our salvation in Jesus Christ. Let us remember the battle is already won. Let us trust in whatever God allows into our lives knowing that He will only use it for good if we let Him. Remember He is good. Let us utter the words David wrote in agreement; "Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness." (Psalms 143:10)
As we walk uprightly we will be harder to push down completely. Our want to fight will increase as our faith in who God is grows within us. Join me in holding His hand as we near closer to that final Day. His promises are secure and His reward is great. "For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning."
(Psalms 30:5)
The armor of light can come only from Jesus, it is up to us to put it on each day regardless of how our flesh may feel. That light will be enough to dispel darkness from others as we do. We must find the ways that help our faith grow because our life is but a vapor; "whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away." (James 4:14)
It is time for us to live for Christ and not allow darkness to tear us down. Praise God who helps us through it!
Prayer:
Adonai Elohim, thank you for the great faith You have planted within me, I ask that You help me to increase it each day I am alive on this earth. I am thankful for a chance of life in this body. I cherish all that I do here with You. Use me for Your glory and send me out as You see fit. I believe that what so ever You allow to strike me You will give me all the tools necessary to defeat and to cast off the works of darkness. I have faith in You. Lead me in the way of everlasting to the Day of my salvation. I am Yours. Fill my cup Holy Spirit and guide me into all truth. Give me the battle plan for each day and the wisdom to walk it out humbly and in love. Victory is done and I choose to walk in the predestined time God has put me in. In the Name of my Savior, the Son of God Almighty, Jesus Christ. Amen.
