Glory Of Colors

July 14, 2021

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors.

~Genesis 37:3~

As I asked Holy Spirit today about what I need to write on, I kept hearing an excited expression speaking "Colors! Colors!" I began to giggle a bit as I heard Holy Spirit say it in a way a small child would say this. It reminded me of how gentle and sweet He is;

"What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?"

(I Corinthians 4:21)

This is exactly how Holy Spirit approached me, in such a loving and gentle way. Our God is so generous He cares so much that when He created life on earth He chose to make the colors to apply to them. As an artist paints his canvas the Father added all glorious coloring to bring our emotions to the next level with Him. He could of very easily made things black and white like those old tvs that only seemed to please the ears of those who watched them. For those who are of that generation; do you remember the moment they came out with that first color tv? How excited everyone must of felt to watch, in color, scenes and their favorite picture truely coming to life. I like to imagine Father enjoys it just as much, if not more watching us in color, embracing our "scenes" take place with the beauty of His color. I can stop and praise God for the very creation of colors. I, myself, being an artist and creative truely enjoy the different colors of this world. It is very pleasing to my eyes and most of all enhances emotion, something He too shares with us. Emotion. We are made in His image, after all. "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." (Genesis 1:27)

Take earths colors and enhance it times about a thousand and thats how beautiful heaven's colors are. Everything is increased as sin does not live there. Let us remember the colors all combined together in God's promise to Noah after the flood wiped out the earth after rebellion; "I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth." (Genesis 9:13)

Father could of used anything as a sign, He is God after all. Instead He chose His colors in the sky to show us His promise is sealed. The verse today reminds us of colors given out of love, confirming yet again it is to be a sign of love and commitment. Joseph's father made for him the most beautiful coat and it had all kinds of colors upon it. These colors had an important symbolism behind them that his father wanted to be very visible to those around him, just like God's rainbow. The love of the Lord is spoken to us through each different color as it hits our eyes and pierces our hearts. Why else would Joseph's brothers take his coat from him as they sold him into slavery? "So it came to pass, when Joseph had come to his brothers, that they stripped Joseph of his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him."

(Genesis 37:23)

The jealousy rose up and they stripped him of his beauty given to him by their father and put him into black and white picture, yet God had an even better plan! His promises always kept! "For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us." (II Corinthians 1:20)

These colors we see in our day to day lives are symbolic to God's deep love for all of us. Each color representing a different meaning, emotion and response; we can give glory to God and thank Him that we do not live in black and white. We can truely be blessed as we take in all of God's artwork on this beautiful canvas in which we live and when we go Home, it will only get better and brighter!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for each color You have spoke into being! I am truely blessed to have the eyes to see the glory of Heaven coming to life on earth. I pray to remember to stop and take it all in and appreciate this life You have given me. I declare that the promises of God are yes always and His perfect timing is pure and good. Lord, guide me into all truth and teach me Your mysteries as I crave more of You each day. Without You, life is so dull. With You, all things are enhanced and beautiful like Joseph's coat of love. I receive new vision as I gaze upon Your artwork and I praise You for Your faithfulness to all of Your children. In the Name of Your Son, my Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
