Genuine Faith

January 20, 2021

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

~Hebrews 11:3~

Faith: The word that represents christianity in itself. Believing in things that are unseen to our naked eye. The Father formed the entire universe by faith. He spoke things into being that was not seen, knowing they would come to pass just as He said them to be. God started off with an empty canvas and made art out of His words. Without God's word our universe would remain blank, our bodies would never exist; "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."

(James 2:17)

We cannot bring things to life without faith. When we walk with God we walk in faith of Him and His Son, knowing that when we speak the word of God over our circumstance in faith, they will be done; "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."

(Mark 11:24)

Faith requires full belief. It is much easier said than done, however it must be done.

"For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror." (James 1:23)

Believing in things we can only see face to face is not the act of using faith.

When we act in faith and use the word of God that is implanted in our hearts we will see real supernatural changes come to life in front of our very eyes. I have watched as people became healed, set free and felt the Lord's presence enter them in a moment. This is all by faith. One can not receive what one does not truely believe will happen. If we believe Jesus is who He says He is, that He performed miracles, signs and wonders; if we believe He is truely alive and beside us, wanting to use us then we will take His word for what it is now. We will put it to use just as the apostles put it to use. We will continue on Jesus' ministry as we become one with Him. "He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son."

(I John 5:10)

Jesus did not tell us that the kingdom is complete. Jesus tells us that the kingdom is at hand and it is inside of us as we truely follow Him; "and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

(Mark 1:15)

If Jesus tells us to repent and believe in the gospel, this means we are to believe in the full gospel. Everything Jesus did in His ministry on earth was the gospel. It never went away, it only was meant to increase through those who chose to follow Him.

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.

they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

(Mark 16:17)

Let us not forget these were some of His last words before going to be with the Father. From the mouth of Jesus Himself we are told these things will continue. He does not say only for a time and then stop. When we have the power of the kingdom inside of us, Jesus says because of this we are able to do all of these, however, without faith we cannot.

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6)

I have witnessed so many disagreements within the church itself. How healings don't exist anymore, or demons are not an issue, or tounges should not be spoken anymore. If you are fully following Christ, you cannot assume He changes at all or His word changes at all. It does not. The kingdom never changes. "Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues." (I Corinthians 14:39)

Do not forbid this, Paul states clearly. Most would say this is a "pentecostal" thing only. However, in the early church we did not have denominations. Separation is no good in the Body of Christ. It causes more tension then anything. When we pick and choose what to believe and what to stop allowing to happen in the church we are putting a wall up between us and God. We are telling the world that God does change, when in fact He never does. There is no limit to Jesus. Therefore, by faith we shall not limit Him. "For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure." (John 3:34)

There is no balancing act being done with Christ. He is fully in and therefore we shall be fully in with Him. We represent the gospel, the full gospel. Without the fullness of our faith being applied, we will come up short. The world needs to truely see more of the Lord's works, not just hear us talk about them but to use the Spirit in us to show His glory. It is only by faith we can do this. We must have geuine faith residing in us as it was in Jesus. Im not saying all of us are to go out and do all of these things in a literal sense, as we all have to play a different part to His body. God gives us each a task to do for His Body and we are to take that task with the fullness of faith and show the Lord's presence in it. Believe and ask for more spiritual gifts to use for blessings to others and He just may supply you with more! God can use anybody for anything. The more you wish to serve the Lord's children, the more spiritual gifts He can trust you with. Faith is where it starts, in the full gospel. "For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function."

(Romans 12:4)

Even as we may have different jobs to do for Jesus, we all serve the same Body that has never changed. If we start to deny certain areas of the gospel, we start to cut off limbs of His Body, so to speak. The church then begins to suffer the pains of this. Let us have our faith meter set high, meditate on His word daily and go forth to speak in faith just as God did in the beginning of time.

His church needs to come together more in unity and power, not separate off in different doctrines of men. Do not limit our sovereign God just to remain comfortable in the world.

"So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God."

(Mark 11:22)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for supplying my body with divine faith that allows me to fully believe in the gospel. I believe that You never change and that miracles happen everyday. I believe that I am able to speak healing into my life because of Your blood redeeming me from the curse. I believe I am able to make demons flee as I speak the truth out loud because You defeated the kingdom of darkness on the cross. I believe I am here in this world to fulfill a divine will to show those around me who You are and what You do. Keep using me in what You wish to use me for, Lord. Show me how to fully walk in faith. Help me tear down any walls I may have put up between You and I. I want to grow from faith to faith. I know with You by my side I can do so. Discipline any area of my life that needs it so I can function better in Your Body. I praise You for the glory that You bring in all areas of the gospel. I pray we can bring more of the kingdom to earth with Your true spoken word. In Your powerful, glory filled Name, Jesus Christ. Amen.
