Do You Tremble At His Word?

April 30, 2021

Thus says the Lord : “Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest? For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist,” Says the Lord . “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.

~Isaiah 66:1‭-‬2~

The Lord speaks mightily. The Lord dwells in heaven and sees us as minor specks. There is nothing we can create for Him, there is nothing we can build for His dwelling place. Even as His temples now, we were made by the Almighty El Shaddai; "However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says." (Acts 7:48)

The prophet Isaiah speaks of God's incredible Sovereignty that we should fear. The very sound of His word should be enough to make us tremble. How will we tremble at the thought or sound of God? We will get to know who He truely is. We will abide in Him and Him in us. We will exercise our spirits to feel His presence within us. "The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life."

(Job 33:4)

God is bigger then our minds could ever fathom, we must meditate on this truth. We must fear the Lord first. We must take His word seriously. We must live according to His mercy. To give some ideas of just how Holy and Powerful the Father is, let us meditate on scripture now and learn to tremble. His voice is powerful enough to speak things into being; "The voice of the Lord is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The Lord is over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; The voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars, Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon."

(Psalms 29:3‭-‬5)

His sight is enough to see all who dwell on earth; "For His eyes are on the ways of man, And He sees all his steps." (Job 34:21)

He is capable of knowing each and everyone of our thoughts; "Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart."

(Psalms 44:21)

He is able to speak to the clouds and cause rain to pour down upon us; "Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That an abundance of water may cover you?" (Job 38:34)

He is the only One capable of immortality;

"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen." (I Timothy 1:17)

God grants us many gifts and instructs us in many ways to fear Him for good reason. We are here to proove to the rest of the world that we tremble at the very sight and sound of His spoken word. To those who are humble and give all they have in submission; to Him will remain blessed forevermore. God is looking for His children to be willing to get to know Him intimately, to search Him out, to hunger for His power and witness to others of His great Glory. There is only One true God and we cannot even begin to compare to such a King. When you hear God's word, when you feel His presence or when you worship His greatness; do you tremble? Do you quiver and shake with fervent desire for Him? If not, perhaps He is asking you to draw nearer and truely meditate on the words of His mouth. Perhaps we are harboring a form of unbelief that we need help removing from our souls? Let us ask God generously who is willing to give to those who long for more of Him; "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

(James 1:5)

Are we going about life speaking of faith as if it is a fad? Are we desiring for things of the flesh far more then things of the spirit? Are we thinking, living and breathing Christ into all of our days? Are we wavering in our faith for the world around us? Are we truely believing in God's Sovereignty? Do we tremble at His word? Let us take a step back and dive into heavy prayer. We have the ability to come before His throne, the very one He sits on above all of the earth and address what needs to be addressed in our individual walks. He is waiting to instruct us how to grow spiritually, how to truely see Him for who He is. The Great I AM.

"And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”

(Exodus 3:14)

He is all things and He is worthy to be praised, worshipped and revered; so much so that we tremble when we just think of Him. We are merely dust at His feet but He loves us with a far exceedingly powerful love. Let us truely learn to believe, fear and tremble at the word of the Lord; for we know it is sharper then any double edged sword.

Prayer:

Almighty Adonai, Great Majesty of the earth, I am thankful for I am fearfully and wonderfully made by You. You created me with purpose to worship and tremble at the very sight of Your Holy word. If there is any unbelief in me, please teach me how to become fearful and truely believe in all that You are. I am grateful to be a child of the King of Kings, I long for a contrite spirit within me. Shape me and mold me as You wish, Father. Use me as a blessing amongst this world today, to glorify Your Most fearful Name. At the sound of it every knee shall bow. I personally praise and bow down before You my glorious Father who formed everything that I see and don't see around me. Glory be to You! May blessings rain down from heaven upon all of my brothers and sisters today in the Name above all Names, Jesus Christ. Amen.
