Continually Seek Him

July 3, 2021

Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.

~1 Chronicles 16:11~

This verse today is perfect, not only because it comes from our perfect God in Heaven but because it speaks to all of us who often question how we can feel at peace, loved, joyful in the midst of sorrow and free.

"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." (John 16:13)

The Lord's face is before us, behind us and all around us. He is desiring to have a deep connection to each and every one of us. He is reaching out through His living word encouraging us to seek Him continually.

Continually requires us to never take a step back, a moment away or a pause. We must be hungry for Him every day we are alive, praising Him that we are, even if life here can get pretty dark. The other side brings light strong enough to pierce the depths of anything extreme or wicked and cause it to flee. "He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him." (Daniel 2:22)

The Lord's capability is unending and vast in each direction. Are we remembering this each day? Do you find yourself taking a day off from Jesus? We may think to ourselves, "I am too tired to read, pray or minister today I will just not do any of it." Then later on you find yourself going to a person to unload a heavy burden from the days work or spiritual hunger. We are humans run by Holy Spirit; "Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his Holy Spirit within him?" (Isaiah 63:11)

Without Jesus Christ we would crumble, He is our strength and our fortress.

There is no time to take breaks within the life Jesus is calling us into. Or for that matter into the battle we enlisted in the moment we declared Jesus as Lord over our lives. All too often, I find that some folks abide in the Lord heavily for a season; they read the word, study hard, pray without ceasing and fellowship boldly. A day arrives, or what I like to call an "attack," and they begin to give up chasing after God. They take a break for a time being, they stop praying, reading, going to church or praising the Almighty One. This is hard to witness as we are to take each day, each opportunity and each situation continually seeking the Lord for the strength to do so. It takes one quick day of "a break," and the devil slithers in as he sees an open door. "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness."

(I Corinthians 3:19)

As we attempt to step back from Jesus and step into temporary treasures to fill a void, we may eventually give up all together and end up in more weakness or despair in heart as we search for those answers. The only answer is more of Him to become stronger; " Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last." (Isaiah 48:12)

He has everything we need, if we are to give encouragement to others, let us do so to point them to Jesus Christ so they may seek Him continually. The face of the Lord should be the focus of our hearts. His countenance gives us Shalom; "The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."

(Numbers 6:26)

There is no other face in the world that can give what He can give. I pray that all of my brothers and my sisters continually seek Jesus in all of their days, without giving in, wavering or stepping aside on their own. When we trust in only Jesus and hunger to seek after Him over anything else, glory will shine into our life. We must believe that it will. He is truth, therefore we can know this will happen as we give ourselves to Him.

Prayer:

Abba Father, I am thankful You gave me the ability to seek You. I choose to continually seek You and I strive for the best of gifts, the sweetest of peace and strongest of boldness. Lord, You are faithful and kind. Remind me to never step back, lose hope or detach from seeking after You. Even if I can't see the light at the end of my dark tunnel, I know Your word says "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee," i receive this word over my life today and I cherish every moment I am alive on earth to serve You and show others who You are. Let all glory, honor and praise be given to You as I supply that helping hand to lead them to seek You continually, for that is where our strength is. Without it, I can not do any of what You have brought me to do so far. I bless my family, friends and church in Jesus abounding Name and thank you for cherishing the assembling of us together. Im His Name forever I pray, Jesus Christ. Amen.
