Call On His Name

May 4, 2021

And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.

~Joel 2:32~

The Name of our Lord and Savior is so powerful that at the very sound of it we can be set free of anything that we are in captive to. He came to set us free completely; "As for you also, Because of the blood of your covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit." (Zechariah 9:11)

His blood seals our liberty and His Name declares victory in each circumstance we face. Can you recall being in a situation that required your parent's help to get out? You find yourself calling out to your mother, father or maybe even grandparent who is near by, in hopes they will come and pull you out. Eventually we grow up and our parents no longer can "pull us out of a situation." We may be on our own. The good news is, we are not on our own as believers in Christ! We are still little children when it comes to our Abba Father. “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3)

We, as adopted heirs into God's family, always have a way to call for help. Jesus is the Way and without Him we will remain stuck and helpless as we search for a "way out." Jesus' Name is above everything. Notice how power filled it is that many who do not even believe get offended at the very sound of it? Quite interesting isnt it? We have an enemy who understands the authority behind Him and that if he can shut our mouths to it we can remain in a state of bondage. Are you feeling lost, tired, depressed, in pain or stuck in chains? Call on Jesus! The Name itself is power enough yet as we have faith backing us up, knowing what it represents and what it can do for us, we will instantly see change occur. The promise of God states that many would be delivered into the hands of Him with total shackles broken. We can have many types; shackles of pain, shackles of rejection, shackles of spiritual demonization, shackles of strongholds, shackles of illness; whatever we may be locked up in is never too much for the Name of our Lord. He is awaiting to help all who call on Him. It is our choice to call for Him or try and manage fixing things ourself. Which do you believe would work best? "Give us help from trouble, For the help of man is useless." (Psalms 60:11)

Let us lift our voices to the One who is able to deliver us out of anything and release breakthroughs over our lives. He turns our mourning into joy. He heals mortal flesh. He leads us down the safe path. He fills our life with blessing as we rely on His Name.

"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name." (Philippians 2:9)

If we are in need of a Savior, He is already right there in front of us. It is up to us whether we want to call out to Him as we once did to our parents when we struggled as little children. We are God's little children now and that speaks greater volume of what type of help we are capable of receiving. Our faith needs to increase as we use His Name. We need to believe He is who He says He is. When we called to our parents we were pretty confident of who they were and that they would come running. We should also know the Lord just as intimately and believe that He too will come running for us everytime. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

(Hebrews 11:6)

The diligence we carried as children should present itself yet again as we follow Jesus to the end of time. His Name is highly powerful and I recommend praying to understand more about just what He represents. He will show us more as we hunger to gain understanding regarding our King. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7)

He is faithful to draw nearer. Call on His Name!

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for Your great Name that is able to break off any chain in my life. Your sacrifice has given all power and authority in heaven and on earth over to Jesus, my Lord. I choose to seek knowledge behind His Name so that I may call out in faith and know that it shall move situations in an instant. You are God over the storm, I am yours. For any situation that I come into or any person I may minister to, I shall call on Your Name and watch greatness happen! I stand beside You and trust that You will catch me if I stumble. I confess that You are Lord and I bow to Your Mighty Name in great praise and honor. May all of today be blessed in the Name of Jesus Christ my Savior, my Deliverer, my Healer. Amen.
