Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.
~Acts 9:31~
We all know the importance to God that we may fear Him and depart from evil. There are many things hidden in plain sight that are there to purposely cause us to fall away from obeying Jesus, the devil is rather sneaky. Our great deceiver goes out into the world seeing how much he can turn people away from fearing God and loving things that come into agreement with himself. The more that we abide in God's truth and welcome Holy Spirit to rise up in us; we will walk in peace and comfort knowing that the Lord will bring forth blessings and multiply His children. The churches the apostles went to preach truth received the Lord's word and some turned away. There are times when we will speak out of obedience and truth witnessing some who will not receive us; "And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet."
(Matthew 10:14)
We see that the churches who did receive their words with open hearts were walking in the fear of the Lord. They were comforted by Holy Spirit and they were then multiplied. God brings forth abundance to His children as they believe in Him. He tells us to be fruitful. He tells us multiply. "May God Almighty bless you, And make you fruitful and multiply you, That you may be an assembly of peoples." (Genesis 28:3)
We will not just multiply here on earth, we will multiply for the Kingdom. He wants as many as will receive Him to do so in peace. These churches at Judea, Galilee and Samaria felt the edification that the Lord intended them all to feel. Only some chose to walk in it. Let us remember the importance of walking in reverence. Let us feel the comfort of Holy Spirit as we open ourselves up to only Him. Let us be aware of the deceitfulness of the world around us and ask God how we can stay away from offending Him. After all, would you rather offend Him or a person? Can a person judge you righteously? Can a person do all the things for you that God can do? "It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man." (Psalms 118:8)
Too often, we find lack of obedience to God due to unbelief in the heart and there is frustration that arises. The peace of God cannot come to fruition until we are walking in His will. We must align ourselves up to God, we must receive His spoken word with all meekness so that we may be edified and multiply those who we speak to next. Join me in living in the way of the churches of Judea, Galilee and Samaria as we receive any correction and truth of the Lord. We can walk in the fear of the One who made us for He deserves all of our respect. Sometimes respecting God may mean being rejected by others. The apostles knew too well of this and yet still went on to walk in peace, multiplying believers of Jesus Christ. We are called to do the same! If there is anything holding us back or causing us to wonder if we are lacking something God is trying to bring for us, pray a prayer to Holy Spirit welcoming Him in with open arms as He is waiting to guide us into all truth. He is there to open our eyes, convict us of wrongs and lead us to become fruitful for our King.
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."
(John 14:26)
There is only one true way to receive the fruits of Him and that is by walking in Him and drawing nearer each day; "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness."
(Galatians 5:22)
We cannot do it on our own, our flesh will always war with spirit. God is longing for His children to go forth and multiply His Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven!
Prayer:
Father God, thank you for Your genuine peace that can only come out of Heaven. I receive all that You have for me as I walk in reverence of You. I put You above all. I pray that my eyes may not be deceived, that my ears will be deafened to evil words and that my heart may remain a heart of flesh alert against any traps. I praise You my Lord for blessing me and my family. I want to always obey You, no matter how hard that may be around me. Whoever chooses to receive You through me chooses life. I do hope more people receive You and that we will be multiplied walking in the fullness of God, declaring the works of the Lord together and rejoicing as we trust in You just as these early churches chose to do. Guide me today Holy Spirit, i welcome You completely. Speak Your truth to my heart and block all evil from my path. In the Name of my Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. Amen.
