All Provision

May 23, 2021

Now Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty kors of fine flour, sixty kors of meal, ten fatted oxen, twenty oxen from the pastures, and one hundred sheep, besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fatted fowl.

~I Kings 4:22‭-‬23~

Each day we arise we can see how much God has given to us. We swing our feet from our bed we get to sleep on each night, we go to our kitchen and grab food to eat to fill our bodies and we drive to places we need to go in our vehicles. There are plenty of extra things He gives to us that we may not even acknowledge. Each and every provision is given to us for exactly what He knows we need and then He allows us to have things we don't even really need, just to make us smile. Solomon was blessed with an abundance of items, he reigned as king and God gave him more then he even asked for.

Our own unique provision prooves God's loyalty to our walk with Him; “For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him." (Matthew 6:8)

Solomon may have had more then he even needed but God granted him exactly what He wanted to. God gives generously, especially to those who do not expect to receive, or when we are giving ourself to Him completely.

"So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." (II Corinthians 9:7)

His provision is sufficient enough for our journey with Him. Our God is a beautiful, all forgiving God who loves to make sure His children have exactly what they need.

Not everything has to be as big as Solomon's provision to recognize that God is speaking to us. We may have a moment where we go to the store and we are in check out line when suddenly our card doesnt go through, the person behind us offers to pay and we see God in this provision. We may be in a time of discouragement and all we need is some time alone with the Lord, a friend offers to take our child to watch for the day and we see God in this provision. We may be grieving a loss so sudden, so tragic and our community begins bringing meals to our door so that we do not have to cook, we see God in this provision. There are endless ways that God provides to our very need and every single one is beautiful!

"Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, ‘The Lord your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land."

(Joshua 1:13)

Whether it is large or small, the Lord's provision measures in the same amount of love. Let us praise our King for taking amazing control of our life and blessing us so abundantly! I could not count on my hands and toes how many times the Lord has blessed me on this journey with Him. The small things make me feel so joyous, the large ones make me speechless. He never stops amazing me! Is there something you are praying for God to provide? Trust that it is on its way, it may be coming in a way you would never expect it! God likes to suprise us. "For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us." (II Corinthians 1:20)

Let us say "yes" to God's faithfulness and timing and move ahead in giving ourselves to Him so generously because He certainly deserves it all and then some! We know what happened to Solomon after he was spoiled with a large amount of provision, he began to fall into pride. Let us learn a lesson from this and use God's provision to turn it back around for good of the kingdom. Just as He gives us spiritual gifts to use for His glory, let us use our abundance of provision to give Him glory as well! "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (I Corinthians 10:31)

I pray that we notice God in all of our provision, that we may not become too used to receiving but that we begin to give ourselves more giving all the glory to God. Jesus loves the domino effect of blessing from one child to the next. Let us share ourselves with others and bring the light of Christ into their life with what God has given us. The world would be a much better place for doing so.

Prayer:

Gracious God, thank you for Your provision in each day that shows me Your abundance of love in my life. I choose to use what You have given me to bless others in their journey. The unity of Your Church prevails and thrives as we trust in You. Without You, I would not have all of the things I have. I am so grateful most of all to just have You with me. It is the greatest provision of all! Lord, use me today to be a blessing, to bring the fullness of God to someone in need and to glorify Your Name. My love for You grows and my need for You is everlasting. I pray many blessings upon my brothers and sisters and that they use it to impact the Kingdom. In Your giving Name I praise and pray, Jesus Christ. Amen.
