As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
~John 17:18~
The Father sent His Son into this world to show the truth and to save it from itself. The fallen state we were in was a lost cause until our Lord appeared to defeat the devil. Just as God sent Moses into Egypt to guide His children to new life; we too can be used by God through Jesus Christ to guide others to new Life. In fact Jesus tells us here that we are sent, just as He was sent. Most people will think that Jesus came and now the work is done. While the atonement for sins and the redemption from curse is complete; we are still in spiritual battle each and everyday over ourselves and over others who need our shining light. "that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me." (John 17:21)
Part of Jesus' prayer to the Father asks for us to be one and be sent into the world as a working vessel for God, so that the world may see Jesus through us amd believe. When Isaiah went into his vision and saw the Father, he heard that He was asking who was left for Him to use; Isaiah's quick response is one I pray everyday and mean. "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
Jesus is still asking this same question today;
"Whom shall He send, who will go for Him?"
Let us be bold and reply the same way Isaiah did. As we are called to follow Jesus, we are called to do the works of Jesus as He leads us to, this way the ones around us who may be in bondage or confused may see the light shining forth and follow us to the other side. Think of it as representation of a buisness or a company. You may speak with a certain lingo, dress modestly sometimes with a logo attached so that others may see who you work for and depending on the buisness; you may even ask others to "sign up" or give them a buisness card to hold on to. As christians, we are to represent Jesus Christ. We are to imitate Him as our "Boss," we are to dress modestly and watch what we say to others, we are to show the wonderful things He can do for all and we may even pass out information on how to know more about Him so they may "sign up" to be with Him too.
"And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
(Colossians 3:17)
This should be our biggest desire; to talk about Jesus, live for Jesus and be holy as Jesus is holy. Wherever the Lord may send us in the world, we should strive to use it as an opportunity to show Christ in that setting. Let us lead more out of bondage and into victory. Jesus wants to use us as the Father used Him to show His glory, this is why we are here. Let us worship and praise the Almighty One who gave us a chance to be sent and used for the glory of God and to push out devils from others lives so they may be sent as well. "Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come." (Acts 26:22)
Let us be hungry to be used as these mighty men and women of God were used. If we are willing, He is faithful to lead us to our divine purpose. Sometimes it may seem as though we do not have "much of a purpose." This is a lie straight from satan. Everyone is very special to Jesus and He is wanting to use as many people that are willing. He is gentle and does not force one to be sent.
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
Paul's words say "that we should walk in them." It is up to us whether we wish to walk in our divine path or choose our own. The fact is we are all sent by Christ into this world, what we do with it is up to us. Let us show the world who our beautiful King is. Let us pray to our Lord and ask to be sent, for the world needs more Kingdom laborers; "Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few."
(Matthew 9:37)
Prayer:
Father God, I thank you for Your divine power and strength that fills me so that I may share it with the lost and broken of this world. Lord I ask that You send me out as the Father sent You so that I may declare Your works and represent the Kingdom in all that I do. I am grateful to be adopted into Your Family and I strive to do all that I am created to do. Holy Spirit, pour out the anointing so that I may be of good service to You. May all glory be given to the King of Kings for every thing I say and do. I am honored to be chosen by You. Thank you for the protection over my life and my family's life. Lead me in the way of righteousness and on to the path of everlasting, in Your most Holy Name I receive blessings today, Jesus Christ. Amen.
